Oppi Rotse B&B - Self-Catering — Hotel in Mtubatuba Local Municipality

These people took money from my account - UNAUTHORISED - with no communication regarding amounts and dates / because we cancelled our booking due to the following reason - WE HAD GUESTS WANTING TO VISIT US (FROM JOHANNESBURG AND DURBAN) SO WE THOUGHT WE WOULD BOOK IN SOMEWHERE AND MAKE A WEEKEND OF IT. 10 DAYS BEFORE THE BOFORE THE BOOKED DATES, WE LOOKED AT THE WEATHER AND BECAME CONCERNED BECAUSE OF A COLD FRONT BEING FORCASTED... SO- WHAT IS THE USE IN DRIVING THAT FAR AND HAVING A WEEKEND FILLED WITH AN AWESOME SCHEDULE - GAME DRIVING, VIDAL/BEACH, BOAT RIDE ON RIVER ETC- IF YOU HAVE TO STAY IN THE HOUSE ALL WEEKEND TRYING TO KEEP ALL THE KIDS ENTERTAINED!!

Anyway after explaining the above to them and asking if we can reschedule - they said no - they are fully booked till end November - so I then ended up having to cancel the booking instead of rescheduling Then... on 30/08 I get a message that they took money from my account - note: NO communication regarding dates/amounts prior to the "purchase". And the best part is - when I last spoke to her (assuming its the owner) I AGREED THAT WE WIL DO WHAT WE HAVE TO - (because according to her could not reschedule soon) I do understand terms and conditions - but because of no further communication I did not prepare for this at all - (my salary came in later than expected - so therefore they took the last money in my account) As soon as I figured out where my money has gone - I phoned the lodge and they refused returning my money (as I urgently needed it back in account for medical aid debit order) - eventually I said I will be opening a case of theft - they sarcastically laughed and said "you can try" The way they reacted and treated us over the phone was so rude and...

We have been travelling to St Lucia on and off for the past 12 years. The accommodation we have stayed in each time has been great, but the staff at Oppi Rotse have just raised the bar. Valerie managed to accommodate all 21 of my family and friends (some from Brazil) and not one person has had anything negative to say about the accommodation, in fact everyone has been raving about how comfortable, clean and absolutely phenomenal it was! Each and every one of us felt like we were at home, this made for an unbelievably relaxing time away. The highlight for me personally was the deep sea fishing trip with Oppi Rotse owner's son Walter as the skipper. He has to be one of the most incredible fishing skippers that I have ever come across and would urge anyone who stays at Oppi Rotse to enquire about a deep sea fishing trip with them, it is worth every single cent! From the stunning decor in the gardens, the exquisite water features trickling into the swimming pool, the luxurious 10 seater jacuzzi, to the wildlife on your front door step and even the arranged game drives to Hluhluwe, I would recommend Oppi Rotse in St Lucia Kwa-Zulu Natal to everyone and anyone. I will be back as will my friends and family, sooner...

Our "OPPI-Lodge" dark and very puretanic and they are stingy in detail. Possibly we had the worst room of all. It seems that these rooms were completed at some time and then maintained with the least possible effort. The door doesn't lock, you have to ask for the hairdryer as much as anything else, suspiciously there is The New Testament at hand, but neither wine glasses, coffee, tea (but three kinds of sugar), nor water in the fridge, nor a single chair or armchair in the room. If the defective wooden stool in front of the desk was not used forty years ago as a whipping post for blacks to be punished...! And you bump your knees at the desk because either the chair is too low or the extremely uncomfortable chair brought in from the porch is too high. Before going to bed, you better disconnect the loudly humming refrigerator. All in all, not a pleasant stay, especially for two.|But at least correct American breakfast with Eggs & Bacon, toast, yogurt, fruits and O-juice and very eager, friendly...
