Footprints in Kleinmond — Hotel in Overstrand Local Municipality

From the beginning of my holiday Lindie and Maritz made me feel extremely welcome. Unexpectedly I arrived two days early and they went out of their way to accommodate me. My room was large, light and cool. With the window open I could hear the sea. Footprints in Kleinmond is perfectly situated in a quiet Cul de sac. A short distance from sea views, surrounded with wonderful sea walk pathways and a stunning beach. Having the bonus of a lovely beach view restaurant close by. As a single person travelling alone the central courtyard allowed me to talk to other guests, sharing stories, drinking wine or beers, braaiing (bbq) late into the balmy evening. The communal areas and bedrooms are filled with Moritz’s art. Each painting a joy to look at. Lindie and Maritz are a delightful couple. I had the honour of being their first guest . They came across as professional hoteliers/Air bnb-ers, friendly , fun and interesting, with offers of help to make my stay a wonderful experience. Footprints in Kleinmond. If you are ever in that area, do yourself a favour and book in there for as long as possible! We planned to stay in a nearby town, went sightseeing in Kleinmond and passed Footprints on our way to try to get near those amazing rock formations in the ocean and the beach for a nice walk. We loved the vibe of the area so much that we dropped in at Footprints and were lucky to get the last remaining space - the "Bungalow rooms". The rooms were pristine, the decor elegant and welcoming, every amenity we needed in the rooms (hairdryers, a ton of powerpoints and charging stations, more than enough towels, and more). The kitchen - extremely well equiped - had every possible thing we needed!

On our way back we decided to stay there again - got another unit and again enjoyed it immensely again. The hosts were always warm and helpful - we really felt spoiled! Footprints is highly recommended by us for an excellent stay and...

Our stay at Footprints was entirely accidental, caused by the recent floods and bridge closure blocking our way to our original destination. We literally knocked on their door and asked to sleep the night. It was a fantastic piece of good luck. Lindie, the owner, was immediately accomdating and exceptionally helpful. The rooms are crisp and clean, the bedding is great and they had battery backups for load shedding. In the end we stayed 2 nights which gave us a chance to explore kleinmond. The accommodation is 100 meters from the shore line. There is a truly beautiful and well maintained walk through the rocks and fynbos which if you are energetic enough can be a long walk.
