Worst handling of a complaint ever. We popped in for a quick lunch on the terrace with a beautiful view of the beach and lagoon. My friend‘s fried calamari were OKish but not outstanding. I ordered grilled calamari and a greek salad. The salad consisted of 80% cheap iceberg lettuce with a handful of feta pieces and a few sliced tomatoes, cucumber and olives. Not what one cab expect from a greek salad. But the “grilled “ calamari have never seen a grill They were warmed up with a lot of butter probably in a pan. No roasting flavour at all. After trying a little piece I asked the waitress to return it to the kitchen to get is grilled. A couple of minutes later my plate came back without any major changes. After trying another little bite, I returned the plate basically untouched. There was no excuse or apology from the staff. Later the meal that I didn’t eat appeared on the bill. I explained the waitress, which was obviously unable to cope with the situation, that I am not willing to pay for this meal, because I didn’t eat it and it was definitely not grilled calamari. She called the manager who thought that we are tourists ( he is wrong!) simply said:“ This is the way we do calamari and if you don’t like it, it’s your problem!“ And: „ If you don’t pay for this meal, the waitress has to pay it“! Unbelievable!!!! Later we didn’t pay for the calamari but gave the waitress a 180R tip , because it was definitely not her fault. We have been to that place a couple of times, but this was our last visit. If you want to enjoy a decent meal with beach views rather go to Dutchies or Milk on the Beach in Hermanus. The food is much better and they know how to treat their...

I was so dissapointed, I had my family members with me and decided to eat at this restaurant. As we entered there was Noone to usher us to a table or let us know we could sit anywhere and a waitress with be with us.
We seated ourselves and showed a hand up for a waitress to serve the table for drinks first. The order was taken and drinks were quick. What followed was.... well... Nothing.
No service afterwards to ask if we wanted another drink after finishing drinks 30min prior already and not taking of food order.
Again a raised hand and we conveyed our dissapontment to the waitress and she asked who took our order... This was the last straw because she was the one who took our initial drink order!
The food prices are hiked I am assuming to make up for people walking out as we had. Prices are not justified in my opinion. Great view of lagoon and sea and convenient access but that is about it.
Reading the other reviews here that mimic my sentiments means it is not by chance but more the norm.
I was shocked by the response from the restaurant to a paying young adult, Caleb Riordan. Youngster or not, we are the consumer. Picking on and badmouthing a patron's character like that is so unprofessional and shows the type of management and service.
I am glad we did not get to order the food now so we did not have to be further...

Brunch next to the ocean. Jan 2025
We came for a brunch in Kleinmond, next to the ocean, and Sandown Blues offers one of the most spectacular views in the country. We ordered the calamari and chips, as well as the hake and chips. I wanted to order some fresh chilies on the side, which they did not have, which is a negative. The calamari was fresh and crispy, as was the hake. The chips was fried to perfection. Both meals arrived on time, and the food was exactly what it was supposed to be, except for the fresh chili toppings, which was supplemented by Tabasco, one of my non-favorite condiments.
The meals came in at roughly R180 per plate, which is about 20% more than the average price for this type of meal. The spot is premium, and that is why I think the food came at a premium. All in all, a very good culinary experience. The atmosphere is amazing, but just because the food was quite expensive and there was no chilies on the side, the experience was average.
Let me know if you'd like any corrections or...
