Kleinmond Beach — Attraction in Overstrand Local Municipality

We arrived here just after lunch, took in some of the views while inside our car, with great mild winter weather we decided to take a walk on the path along the coast which proved to be an excellent decision.

There is a restuarant on the beach, ablutions for changing clothes and other personal emergencies, the complete area is neat, clean and safe.

All along the route there are benches strategically situated as to maximize views of the ocean and coastlines, this was for us such a tranquil experience, soaking up those panoramic vistas.

For the more energetic, one could walk forever, along the route are also big informative signs of the environment with all its fauna, flora and sea life explained, here one can see what to expect along the route.

Not much people about, also notacible was strategecally placed life boyes along the route, just in case of someone getting into difficulty in the water.

We also observed the fact that there was no litter about, a fact which impressed me as all over our beautiful country litter has become a huge problem.

Not too bad. If you dare to muster enough courage the icy blue liquid awaits! At least it cleans the senses and awakens the ENTIRETY of your body. Make no mistake: the big waves are too deep (unless you are a seal or a body boarder).

The pure golden sandy beach stretches out all the way to Arabella, perfect place to jog, walk and clear your mind. Just behind the beach a lagoon looms... No need to be afraid! There is canoes to hire if you want to explore the river that leads to the wild horse country.

With the ocean and the lagoon is guarded by the lifesavers in season time. This makes it a perfect destination to bring your whole family along.

Activities such as surfing, body boarding, kayaking, kite surfing, SUP'ing and swimming can be enjoyed at this beach. Just bring along your own gear. (Only paddle boats are available to rent.)
