Spacious, comfortable room and a wonderful host that goes the extra mile

I spent one night here on a work trip and the only thing I'm sorry about is that it was just one night. I will definitely be back. The room came as a pleasant surprise. It is very spacious, with a basic kitchenette and a comfortable sitting area for watching TV. It is sparkling clean, with quality white cotton bed linen and a mosquito net. The location is perfect within easy walking distance to the 24 hour Engen shop and a few good restaurants and breakfast spots across the road. John is a wonderful host who responded to messages timeously, and understands hospitality. When I explained that I had a bakkie load of photography equipment with me, and no energy to schlepp it upstairs to my room, he generously offered the use of his personal garage. Thank you, John! As other comments/reviews of this location has stated, the outside appearance is definitely outshined by the inner "beauty". Our accommodation was definitely more than expected. Unit 5, with 1 large bedroom, king sized bed, and 2 single beds for the kids, off the kitchen, was spacious and practical for our needs. Large shower/toilet area. The kids loved the fact that they could chill on the bed and still have a conversation with us, whether we were in the kitchen or lounge. The indoor barbeque area was welcomed with the rain pouring down outside. The only downside of Unit 5 was the wooden floor of the unit above, but didn't spoil our weekend. This place advertizes a 4* rating however it should be 2* at the best.|We lived on a building site for 2 weeks without prior warning. We were demanded to pay for our stay on arrival! They forgot that we had already paid 6 month in advance and they cashed the interest!!!|The braai and the stove were so rusted and derty that we did not dare to use either of them. |Room cleaning took place once a week. Towels were promised to be changed every 3 day but were only changed after 1 week.|If you can stay weay from this "guesthouse" |The 4* rating is 10 years old and has probaly not been rerated since.|The table on the stoep was so dirty the we could clean it!!!|However fancy and partly broken...
