A colleague and I were booked each with our own room into this establishment for 3 nights.||Owner Basil, (no relation to Mr Fawlty!) makes guests feel welcome and is in attendance early at breakfast which is the usual more than adequate English-style.||A selection of teas,coffees and Milo are provided at a self-help counter.||If required, eggs, made to order are brought to your table to complement your choice of bacon,beans,mince,fried tomato,fish fingers and mushrooms.||Also available are cereals,muesli,and pap,(a local porridge).||In-season fruit, as well as muffins,breads,cheese and cold meat provide a varied meal to start the mainly working day.||Dinner is by prior arrangement and a large swimming pool is available next to the bar,which opens at 4pm.||Adequately sized rooms are tastefully furnished with air-conditioning, TV with limited channels as well as a fridge.||The town was a venue for some matches during the 2010 World Cup.||Guests appear to be mainly there for business as the town itself has no real appeal to the...
Read moreWe booked a room to share and specifically asked for two beds. This was confirmed in writing by the manager. When we arrived we were placed in a room with one bed. The receptionist had zero ability and zero desire to rectify the problem. Luckily another guest offered to swap rooms as his had two beds.
The beds in the room were terrible, soft as a marshmallow with a huge depression in the middle. Massively uncomfortable. They should have been replaced years ago.
At 2am someone started banging on our room door trying to get in, constantly slamming the metal gate and shouting loudly in the courtyard waking us up. This despite the "security guard" being seated right there and not telling these people to shut up at 2am. One obviously can't blame the establishment for drunk guests, but the "security guard" did nothing to stop them.

We arrived in Polokwane about 22:30 and was looking for decent accommodation, affordable but still of good quality. ||Im honest to say that I do not agree with the other reviews on this page, as I had a different experience. ||The after hour attendant answered the phone promply, gave me clear directions how to get there and immediately opened the electronic gate when we arrived. ||The rooms was neat and tidy. Aircon was in good condition. ||As Im in the hospitality industry myself, I know what to expect of a good quality guest lodge. ||The breakfast served was very nice. ||The only thing that I noticed was that the towels need to be changed for new ones.
