The house is a lovely old colonial building unfortunately it needs a little more attention to show its full potential.||||On arrival, we were asked to pay upfront however credit card was not working. The receptionist initially kept insinuating it was my card until I requested she try another. This was fixed the next day and we returned to the guesthouse to pay (on the positive side we were not sent out in the rain to draw cash!)||||We arrived at night, in the rain and i was disappointed to find no milk or cream sachets in my room, i was not able to have a cup of coffee until the following morning when they opened for breakfast. ||||The bed room itself was large and clean, with multi-plugs. The bed comfortable and i did see an electric blanket in the cupboard for those icy Kimberley nights. On the negative side in the bedroom - the TV should be updated and i would recommend a hairdryer and ironing board/iron. Whilst they do offer laundry facilities, this is not available for business travellers arriving late and needing to press their clothes. I would also suggest some attention to the curtains to ensure they cover the windows and a bar fridge if possible.||||Whilst the bathroom was also large, there was very little toilet paper and no spares provided (in hunting through the drawers they were very dusty!). Thankfully i found a few tissues in the bedroom as reception was locked. The bath was dirty with hair and the grouting was grotty. ||||Worst of all - dotted along the balcony were FILTHY ashtrays that looked like they had not been cleaned in months. Breakfast was slightly below average.||||So whilst the bed was clean and comfortable, definitely some areas to improve a guest's stay! Will i return? Unfortunately not.||||Their website states four star grading however they only have a 3...
Read moreTo whom it may concern,||||HORRIBLE!!!!!!!||||I cannot believe that in 2022 I was treated in such a manner. As I was checking in to the guest house, my boss had made the booking, I was told that âwe didnât expect someone that looked like youâ I though it was because my boss was female, hence the comment. As I was having dinner with a friend, I was abruptly and rudely disturbed by a banging knock on the door informing us that we had to leave immediately, no excuse to respond or talk just being shouted at and told to leave. Not only was I embarrassed but I was petrified by this tall Afrikaans man who kept screaming at me as if I was a child. As confused as I was, I went to ask what the problem was, the Manager and the owner gave me no explanation but told me I can leave and they will not refund me, the manager banged the door on my face and told me he is tired and itâs late and he wants to go sleep. I couldnât sleep at all, I waited for the sun to come up and I left and looked for alternative accommodation while I was booked there for a week.||||I refuse to believe this is how they treat all their customers, it was clear to me that it is how they treat customers who look like me. Horrible Experience, would not recommend this place to a any person especially a person of colour.||||Till today no one has ever phoned or emailed me to try and explain or at least apologise or maybe even ask why I didnât stay for the duration I...
   Read moreGood day.
This is a professional review of Milners house.
I would firstly like to compliment Kenneth, we called ahead and requested a room. He was very professional and very eager to assist and happy to help with anything. He is an amazing assist to Milners House and would give him praise for being a great employee.
Further more service is exceptional. The place looks amazing from the outside as you move in, the Koi Pond to the entrance is enticing. The rooms are clean and very "home" feeling. The bar is beyond words and the food is made fresh to order. I cannot give more praise to the staff and to Milners house for being a perfect 10/10. Simply put if you are in Kimberley and looking for a great guest house to stay at, look no further than Milners house.
The breakfast to start the day is included, it has a gym to start to day full of energy. Free wifi and no loadshedding as they have back ups runnning. Thank you for the amazing stay.
Please give great thanks to Kenneth again and to the security for being beyond helpful.
Thank...
