The Location: Nestled not far from Franschhoek, L'Auberge Chanteclair offers a perfect blend of accessibility and seclusion. The farmhouse ambiance feels like stepping into a dream, surrounded by picturesque mountains and vineyards. Simply sitting by the pool, savoring house wine while watching the gentle sway of tree branches in the wind, was a serene experience. Pairing fresh berries with white wine elevated the relaxation to another level.

The Room: My spacious room was in impeccable condition, complete with a cozy fireplace tended to by attentive staff every evening. The crackling fire added a special touch to my vacation. Upon hearing lively conversation outside my door, I couldn't resist joining fellow guests, creating memorable connections that enriched my stay.

The Breakfast: A highlight of my time at L'Auberge Chanteclair was the exceptional breakfast experience. Enjoying a delicious meal next to the lush vineyards while witnessing the fog kiss the mountaintops was nothing short of magical. Coupled with the warmth of the staff and the quality of the eggs and coffee, it was a breakfast to remember.

The Staff: The staff's hospitality was unparalleled, scoring a solid 100 out of 10. Their friendliness, helpfulness, and engaging conversations made me feel like a cherished friend rather than just a guest.

We spent 2 nights with Alan & Yvonne at the beautiful Auberge Chanteclair as part of our 40th wedding anniversary celebration. Our room (Prunus) had everything we needed and was elegantly decorated. We especially enjoyed breakfast on the terrace and Yvonne’s speciality fresh fruit juices. The breakfast buffet offered plenty of choice, the cooked breakfast was also delicious and piping hot. The property stands in well cared for grounds where there is a pool, lake, vineyard, perimeter walk and vegetable garden.
