Pros. Great location. Great views. Fireplace with wood every night. Gentleman helpful. Helped arrange a happy birthday decoration. Helped arrange better wifi for an interview on zoom. Excellent host. Didn't charge for a broken glass. Secure parking. Good security. Felt safe. Spacious room. Comfortable bed. Nice shower and bath. Cons. Lady needs to attend hospitality school. Not friendly. Asked us to withdraw cash to pay for the laundry, instead of accepting card payment and facilitating payment to laundry company. Then when we did withdraw the cash, she asked us to get exact change. In the end, she kept our change. On holiday, the point of hospitality is to save time for this kind of admin. There is no breakfast. We were not told of this before on advert or after booking, hence false advertising? Instead a R150 voucher was given to us. 150 for 2 people. 150 rand at the designated shop barely feeds 1 person. Wifi is terrible cannot even stream a normal poor quality video. Only 1 plug working next to bed so can only charge 1 device overnight. So for a couple, someone's phone is flat the next day. Showered with cold water 1 night, during peak winter. Definitely not worth what we paid, almost R3000 per night for all these cons. I had my wedding in December 2024 and booked my entire family at the lavender farm. Frauke was so nice on email but extremely unpleasant in person. Two of my family members were locked out the room thinking they grabbed the keys on their way out to my wedding. Turns out the hotel did not bother to call me to let me know they had locked up and kept the keys. We paid for an empty room the second night. Upon collecting my family from lavender farm and Frauke was only concerned about one wedding guest who had not checked out yet. She spoke to me as if I also catered for the wedding guests bill and movements which I did not. I know that Frauke might deal with a lot of brides so all the hotel cares about is payment being made BUT being kind should be a given in hospitality especially when a guest books many rooms for her wedding. In fact Lavender farm was suggested by my wedding venue for accommodation. The worst part was that Frauke mixed up all the rooms upon check in when we had agreed via email months in advance that my family were assigned to their specific rooms.
