La Providence — Hotel in Stellenbosch Local Municipality

Definitely the highlight of our three-week trip in South Africa!

We stayed at this beautiful guesthouse for a week and it was definitely the best decision we could have made. As soon as you enter this place and pull up the driveway, you don't want to leave. The landscaped gardens and vineyards are beautiful. The large pool, surrounded by mountains and vineyards, is the perfect place to wind down and relax. What we also loved was that you could help yourself to the honesty bar and had a great selection of drinks. The breakfast was also the best we had on our vacation! Not only was it delicious, but it was also prepared with great attention to detail. You can order whatever warm food you want and there is also a small buffet with different types of delicious food every day. There are also fresh cakes/muffins and fruit every day where you can help yourself right next to the pool. The room offered plenty of space to feel at home and was very tastefully furnished. The guesthouse is also perfectly located, not far from the main shopping street and all the restaurants and wine estates.

Ellen and Gary were absolutely perfect hosts, always up for a nice chat and extremely helpful and kind!

Stayed at La Providence for three nights in a Vineyard View Suite from 22 to 25 March 2025.|Correspondence with Gary and Ellen during booking and prior to arrival was prompt, friendly and informative and Gary knew who we were when we pressed the buzzer to open the gate which was a nice touch.|Vineyard View Suite was a delight. Beautiful views of the cypress trees and vineyard from the room, comfortable seating on the stoep, a great place to sit and while away the time.|Room was spacious, great decor and well equipped with plenty of storage space and a cosy sitting area. The bathroom was large and comfortable with a big shower. All very clean. Soft towels and bedding and fabulous mattress.|The breakfast area by the pool was very great, the breakfasts cooked to order and delicious.|The pool area included the breakfast room and honesty bar, a fab place to chill out, especially in the evenings with a G&T.|La Providence was safe and secure and a great location for Franschhoek and area. |Staff were courteous and attentive and we can’t thank Gary and Ellen enough for making our stay special. Such a peaceful place, everything just right. Will definitely return, hopefully when the roses are in bloom...

We had the absolute pleasure of celebrating our 17th anniversary at La Providence Farm, and it was a truly unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, hosts Ellen and Gary made us feel like family. Their warmth, friendliness, and attentiveness created a welcoming atmosphere that made our stay incredibly special.||They surprised us with an upgrade to a stunning room, and thoughtfully recommended excellent local wineries and restaurants that made our days even more memorable. The grounds are beautifully maintained and offer a peaceful, scenic setting perfect for relaxation.||Breakfast each morning was a highlight—freshly made to order and absolutely delicious. I can honestly say it was the best omelette I’ve ever had! On our departure day, we had an early flight, and Ellen and Gary even prepared a breakfast goodies bag for us to take along—such a thoughtful touch that really meant a lot.||Our only regret is not staying longer. Three days flew by, and it just wasn’t enough time to enjoy everything this special place has to offer. We will definitely be back!||Thank you again to Ellen and Gary for making our anniversary...
