There is no denying that the view is great. We got a room that viewed the ocean, but my overall experience was average. Our first impression was that this is a great place when we were walking through the entrance, and in the lobby (someone said they speak English here, whenever I called there wasn't one available but it didn'tmatter since I stilll could speak decent Korean). We got our room key (actual room key instead of a card which doesn't exist in the states even in most motels, but it still seems to be big thing in Korea). Elevator here is very noisy, and one was broke. Openning our door was tough in which we had to jiggle our key and the door, when we entered the room, we loved our view, the room was clean and they had universal power cord which was a plus(negative was that we had to play with the lights to get the power to work). The phone and light controler next to our beds seemed old. Bathroom is very modern with American style shower with glass door, unlike most places where shower is part of the bathroom. The thing I liked about Korean hotel/motels is that most have port where you put in your key when you enter the room to turn on your lights and turns off when you pull it out to exit the room which would conserve power. We slept with the door open to the sound of the ocean. In the morning we went to the 8th floor for breakfast, I got an American style breakfast(egg and bacon) while my gf got Korean style food. My food came out very fast, and separate which I didn't like, but mainly my food looked like microwave food( which might of been why it was so quick). My hashbrowns seemed like old McD ones, and eggs were disappointing. When they asked me about if i wanted coffee or tea, i said black coffee, I got some sort of tea (which i don't know if there is black tea that she misunderstood me for). My girlfriend's food in other hand was good, so I would recommend to go with Korean food here and skip the American style breakfast. Coffee shop on the 10th floor is neat with the whole shop spins in 360 to view the whole city, only downside was that while we were up here a guy was working on the motor of it so there was little jerks when spinning which made me feel little nauseous. At the time of our visit there was construction going on that was noisy in the morning. Throughout the building, you can tell that this place is starting to have chipped paint and such. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience with the view, cool looking hotel, but negative being that hotel really is the only thing in the city, and hotel I think is average with having to play a puzzle openning the door. Staff is great and...
Read moreMy family stayed at Beach Cruise in Jeongdongjin, on the 15th floor, during the end of July 2025 for our summer vacation. To be honest, our first impression wasn’t perfect. We got a bit lost trying to check in, because it’s easy to mix up Sun Cruise and Beach Cruise. They’re close in name and look, so please make sure to double-check which one you booked before arrival.
Once we stepped into our room, everything changed. The space was large and airy, with two double beds and a layout that felt generous. And here’s the surprise. There was a bathtub right in the main room, facing the television. I had never experienced anything like it before. Soaking in a hot bath while watching TV after a long day felt like pure comfort.
The room had a modern, refined interior. Marble finishes made everything feel upscale. The kitchen area came with a microwave, a hot water pot, a mini fridge, and even a coffee machine. The water pressure in the bathroom was strong and satisfying.
Now, about the swimming pool. Since my son is under 19, we used the family-friendly infinity pool on the 18th floor. To reach it, you walk across a sky bridge that can only be accessed with a room key. This made it feel exclusive and a little adventurous.
We paid KRW 20,000 per person for pool access, which was settled at check-out. Each guest received an orange wristband and a bath towel. Be sure to read the pool’s terms and conditions before your visit, because access might not be included in all bookings.
The temperature of the pool was pleasantly warm, not cold at all, which made it great for relaxing. We enjoyed some time there and even ordered food by the pool. Pizza and fried chicken were both available, and my son loved it. Just one thing to remember. They don’t offer napkins or tissues, so if your fingers get messy, you’ll need to bring your own.
You can also rent a cabana for KRW 20,000. It’s a cozy place to rest after swimming. At night, the sunset is stunning. The reflection of the ship-shaped resort lights on the water feels exotic, almost like being in Macau. The vibe is unforgettable.
The pool closes at 9 p.m. After swimming, we squeezed the water from our swimsuits and wrapped ourselves in the towels to stay warm.
There’s also a CU convenience store just a two-minute walk from the entrance, which is handy for late-night snacks. Room service offers pizza and chicken at reasonable prices.
So, would I stay here again? Yes. I’d love to return during a quieter season, when I could appreciate the calm and hidden charm of this beautiful place in more...
Read moreOur check-in was pretty straightforward, no surprise since we stayed here in the past, staff are pretty cold and disinterested, not rude, just cold. My family enjoyed the last trip so we returned. Our room was as expected, with one exception, the mini kitchen was supplied with utensils, and pots and pans previously, not anymore. The hotel has an interesting HVAC system, the twin suites have a master bedroom loft, and adjacent bed over looking the ocean, very beautiful and relaxing, unfortunately the hotel switched the A/C off and put the heating system on, this made the loft area very warm, I tried to adjust the multiple thermostat controls, but was unaware the AC main was off. The in room phone system was turned off, so the only option was to trek up to the main desk. The front desk clerk and I went back and forth with translators, till I got the Heating system information. I thanked the clerk and headed back to reverse the thermostat settings which did help, along with leaving the glass door to the ocean patio open. Crisis averted, the sounds of the ocean was blissful. The next day we returned to a nicely cleaned suite until I noticed a large piece of chewed gum left on the display shelf, trust me it was gross, I asked my family if anyone left this? I knew the answer before asking, no one in my family are gum chewers. It then became clear the someone in house cleaning left it there, never seen that before on all my travels. When checking out I mentioned the AC/Heater issue as well as the chewing gum issue, and to no surprise to me, there was no interest, discussion or maybe even a halfhearted we apologized for the inconvenience? Nope not at Sun Cruise, the clerk just motioned for the next person in line, I actually laughed, shook my head a little and headed out the door. The one positive thing we took away was, we unanimously decided to never return...
