I have stayed at Hotel La Casa on my previous trip to Seoul and was very impressed by the room design and its ambience. I had a great experience at the hotel and wanted to revisit again on my most recent trip to Seoul.
Well, it was such a let down. The room was astonishingly dusty. There was an obvious lack of attentiveness and care for cleanliness and maintenance. The air conditioning were not working properly, stopping in the middle of the night. They couldn’t fix the AC, so they offered to move to a different room.
We stayed for only two nights, and it was quite a hassle to have to repack and unpack again; but it was a better choice because the heat was unbearable.
Again, despite giving us a new room, the next one was also not well kept AND the AC also cut off at night. It was uncomfortably hot.
Both nights, I had to get up to restart the electrical mains switch for the room in order for the AC to start working again.
Upon check out, I asked if any partial refund could be made. The staff just shook their heads and said sorry. For the same price (when we booked) one could have booked a 4+ star hotel such Sheraton or Mondrian.
Two sleepless nights in dusty room at 28°C stale air… BE CAREFUL if you book this hotel. Inspect the room if you have already made the booking and hope they have a clean room with working air...

On the day I checked in, the weather in Korea was a pleasant autumn day with a temperature of 21 degrees Celsius, dropping to a comfortable 18 degrees at night.
However, to my dismay, the room's heating was cranked up to a scorching 27 degrees!!!
When I called the front desk to address the issue, I was shocked to learn that the room lacked any temperature control, leaving me feeling deeply disappointed and furious.
To make matters worse, I had no choice but to open the windows to let in some fresh air and try toachieve a more reasonable temperature.
However, this only exposed me to the incessant noise from the nearby busy road, making it almost impossible to get a decent night's sleep.
On top of that, the room was infested with mosquitoes, further deteriorating the quality of my rest. Considering the fact that this hotel boasts a four-star rating and charges a hefty price, this kind of experience is simply unacceptable.
Adding insult to injury, the hotel staff exhibited an indifferent and unhelpful attitude throughout my ordeal.
I strongly discourage anyone from staying at this hotel, as the location, staff quality, and room conditions are all far...
Read moreIts a 3 star hotel, so I wasn’t expecting much. Rooms are livable, it is a little dark but still ok. The location is pretty good. Walking distance from Sinsa. While we were staying there, the lift malfunctioned for awhile. The doors jammed and there was no way for us to go to lower levels. The stairs were kinda like a storage area, so we couldn’t use it. What was not so nice was that they overcharged me, my booking came with free breakfast, and I was charged for it. They said they will refund and cancel the initial charge and I just had to pay the correct amount a second time. A month went by and i have not received the refunded amount on my card, i emailed them several times and they only replied once, claiming that it takes up to a month to refund the money. Maybe they were hoping that I forget about it.
Btw, the breakfast was so bad, there wasn’t even many people and the amount of food was so little. It looked like it was only enough for 5 pax. I decided to get cereal with milk eventually, but it couldn’t even fill half the bowl. Only few drops were there, and they didn’t bother...
