G Mini Hotel Dongdaemun — Hotel in Seoul

I had booked these hotel for 5 nights, actually these hotel not calling hotel,more like guest house, many things need to be self service,and big different compared with the pictures,in fact it's old and dirty,also mouldy inside toilet, smelly ,the waterheater hard to adjusted,the water was too cold and too hot no middle heat, first day I checked in on 24th August,I booked triple room because wanna have bigger space, got one foreigner staff served me, very soon I got my room, when I walk into the room,I shocked that looked smaller and old and smelly compared with the pictures, toilet more terrible,got very mouldy smell inside,I asked the staff why it's big different with my booking,I did expect my room it's one double bed and one single bed, so she asked her boss, they will gave me discount if I willing to changed room to double bed room,so I agreed that to changed, but the double bed room also not really good environment inside,also mouldy inside toilet especially celling, second day I thought will got room cleaning everyday, I wanna ask the staff but really not easy to find that staff,no staff around in the counter, I saw a phone number on the counter,I try to call the host and asked the room cleaning,he answered me that room cleaning had time limited on 11am until 4pm, when I booked didn't see any mention about time limited room cleaning, around two days no room cleaning,my bf is a Korean so he helped me called the host to asked why no room cleaning, I think because same is Korean the host attitude was super different, with foreigner he not really friendly, after that the host sent his room cleaning staff to us even over the time cleaning limited , because of the bad environment hotel, I requested to early check out and wanna have a refundable, I call the host, wanna cancelled the other days,he answered me I should send him a WhatsApp or line or any apps to let him decided with his company first just can answer me will refund or not, after that I called the agoda customer service to settle this problem,I wanna to rejected another two days stay, luckily host also willing to let me refundable,I totally only stayed here 3days , overall,this hotel only good in location very near to bus stop and subway station, other things really not good, especially the inside old and dirty and mouldy,if foreigner wanna booked here really need to think properly, it's my experience stayed...

The only bad day we had while in Korea.

We arrived a bit late around 11PM at G Mini Hotel Dongdaemun. There is an asian lady, but not a Korean, she is either from Thailand, Vietnam, or Mongolia that was showing our room on the 2nd floor corner.

Upon entering the room, she apologized that there were 2 area on the floor steps were just still having wet paint (black or dark grey color). We thought the room was not ready or they were overbooked and giving us a room that was still in renovation. But, it was night already, took our shower and slept.

First problem, when we are about to store our drinks and snacks in the refrigerator, and wow, it had bad odor and not cold. We let it on for 30 mins, somehow it was warm.

Second problem appeared after 30 minutes, dripping of water coming down from the ceiling and the water drops were pouring every couple seconds to the blanket over the leg area of the smaller bed. We guessed the leaks coming from the AC.

We went downstair looking for the asian lady, but no one was there. We called the number asking for help. Nothing happened.

The third problem happened in the morning around 6AM, when we used the toilet bowl for the first time, my daughter was flushing the toilet, and the water was overflowing. Both of us were upset as we could not poop, And no one at the office to help. So we decided to leave the place and immediately book another hotel not too far.

The place is so bad that it cannot serve any guest. If the toilet bowl and the AC leaking were managed, we could still stay there. But this is the only bad incidence we have during our 6 days trip in Korea.

This is the first time for me to visit Seoul, personally i think Seoul is an expensive city. So when i planned to take a vacation in Seoul i must spend a lot money for accomodation, but i was totally wrong. Accomodation cost in Seoul was affordable, especially i got promo from booking.com if i want to stay in G Mini Hotel Dongdaemun. This hotel was a small hotel, rate as 3 stars hotel and manage by a family. When i want to check in around 8 am local time, the receptionist say i only can do for check in at 3 pm and i said ok i knew it and may i use the bath room and keep my luggage here, he take me to bath room in a room and keep my all my belongings. At 4 pm i checked in the room, i was surprised because i was a solo travller but i got double bed for 2 pax, size room was enough for 2 paxs.the room and bath room was cleaned. Facilities I got inside the room was high speed free wifi, international channel tv etc. If you want to go to this hotel, i suggest you to use metro to sinseldong station exit 4, after that find Ramada Encore Hotel and G Mini Hotel located right behind Ramada Encore Hotel, it takes about 3 minute walks. The owner was friendly, they are a couple who manage everything from this hotel. The wife was great in english but unfortunately the husband only speaks korean. Overall i really reccomend this hotel, cheap, great location, friendly staff etc. During my stay in G Mini Hotel Dongdaemun, i feel like im in...
