I think my feelings on this place are based massively on the expectation I had. A couple of days before our trip I noticed that this hotel is actually a three star (according to their own website, Google etc) however, Jet2 list it as a four star. Whilst a little worrying, this lowered my expectations so a few things I noticed upon arrival and the first few hours of being there, didn’t bother me as I just figured that they were in keeping with a three star hotel (nothing major, just a loose floor tile here, tired looking furnishing there etc). Had I been comparing to other four star hotels in the Balearics, I’d have maybe been a little disappointed.||So with this in mind, I can easily recommend. The staff are all great, without exception everyone was welcoming, happy and seemed to want to do a great job. Drinks from the pool bar in daytime and main bar at night were consistently good and reasonably priced. We had table service and takeaway from the pool bar at lunch on a couple of occasions and again, very good quality and competitively priced. We were self-catering so can’t comment on quality of other meals.||In less than five minutes from your room, you can be on a sun lounger on a sandy beach. you can walk 50 meters out and still have your top-half out of the water so the five year old loved it, as did the 18 year old. In the morning, the clear water is like walking into a pond, when the wind picks up in the afternoon it does get quite choppy, but getting battered a little by waves is great fun. Plenty of shops bars and restaurants close by, there’s a supermarket and coffee shop / bakery opposite the hotel, walk to the left of the hotel and you’ll find restaurants within 15 mins, a 10min cab journey to the right will take you down to the port.||Things for the customer to consider ahead of booking are:|1. It’s quite small, it’s not the kind of place you’d want to unpack, throw your wallet in the safe and leave it there till checkout. You’ll likely want to get out and about.|2. The pools did seem a little on the cool side, perfect if you’re swimming, but if you’re just bobbing about with a child, you’ll likely get a little nippy after a while, especially when the breeze picks up in the afternoon.|3. We were one bedroom, self-catering apartment and it was just about big enough for the four of us. There was a microwave, kettle and two cooking rings, so couldn’t really make much of a meal. (we never intended to anyway, so no issue).|4. The kids entertainment is quite late. I think it was face painting at 8:30, followed by mini-disco at 9:00, so by the time the main show starts your little ones could be worn out.||Would I return? Yes, I think we would. Mainly due to it being a great base to spend the day at the beach, popping back for lunch by the pool ahead of cocktails and a bit of entertainment in...
Read moreI stayed here with my partner and son- I couldn’t fault it in any way. I read reviews before we went, and they are glowing, and rightly so! I thought I would add my own review. What an absolute dream! Every single member of staff was wonderful and made us feel so welcome! It was perfect for children and families, but I would stay here under any circumstances. Upon arrival, check in was smooth and no problems. I wish we had added the food onto our package, as it was amazing but we wanted to try out the nearby restaurants. This hotel has everything. A lovely swimming pool with a shallow and deep end, sunbeds around the pool, there was a heated pool which was a little deep but great. Some of the days the weather wasn’t brilliant, but they have a lovely spa which can be used by all ages, with a jacuzzi and sauna that we loved. The pool bar is amazing, food is gorgeous, drinks are generous and well priced, and staff so kind and helpful! There was an outdoor smoking area which was helpful for us with the habit, and out of the way of the pool and children. The animation team/ entertainers where wonderful, no efforts where spared and they made time and effort to bond with everyone. Evening entertainment was great, they have a mini disco every night, which my son couldn’t wait for! They included everybody and got us all up dancing! Then they have games or live bands which everyone thoroughly enjoyed, there really was something for everyone. It all finished by 10:00 and we had such peaceful nights in the room, no loud noise and comfy beds. Housekeepers always greeted us too and we always had clean bedding and towels, comfortable beds too! I loved the balcony also, I think every room has a balcony and some enjoyed the entertainment from their balconies. They even gave us some sweets for the plane as we left. This is a beautiful hotel, and we really hope to come back! It is also worth mentioning that it is the perfect location. Gorgeous beaches all the way up and very close. The lake was close and that was lovely too! Lots of shops very close, with everything you could want, and towns in walkable distance, also lots of options for entertainment, water parks, lovely restaurants, and more! Thank you so much ivory playa love from Lily...
Read moreWe stayed for 10 nights at Ivory Playa on a bed and breakfast basis. This was our first time in Alcudia and also in the hotel and unfortunately I wouldn’t return, we travelled with our 4 year old who has Autism, adhd and many other little super powers. On arrival we were given our rooms which for safety and medical reasons we asked for ground floor and ocean facing this being for noise levels and no other reason, which I was assured before arrival this would be granted, unfortunately this wasn’t the case we were on the busiest road I have ever heard or seen in my life. I spoke to a member of staff at reception called Alex who was the nicest most pleasant and understanding due to him having a brother with the same medical concerns and he totally understood why I asked for this, but his hands were tied and the manager who I didn’t actually get to speak to said nope couldn’t help, so we had probably a maximum of 20 hours sleep in those 10days. So now let’s get to the restaurant, selection of food amazing no complaints at all, but again we explained our little one was struggling with how busy it was and the amount of stares he got was also a factor of his lack of eating which again explained to a member of staff and asked if we could take something to the room for him to eat this only being fruit and very little fruit at that we were asked to return the fruit or pay extra but we paid for us all to have breakfast but couldn’t take any for our little one so we ended up buying things for him to eat in the room. Then come to the room, twin room which was clean and presentable but in 10 days they didn’t change beds or replace towels unless you stripped the bed yourself or place towels on the floor which it’s maybe a thing that happens in many hotels but it’s not a thing I have came across before. The long and short of this review is I wouldn’t recommend for a neurodivergent child with other disabilities as in trouble walking etc, the noise level outside was next level and we are home and definitely don’t feel we have been on holiday as exhaustion due to...
