I spent 3 days with my husband for a holiday trip in this hotel. We chose it because of the relatively good reviews. The hotel itself is not bad, rooms are good, people at the reception somehow friendly. Breakfast okay. Nothing special, not bad, okay.||But, take care of your belongings in your room. When we came back after a sightseeing tour at the second day I noticed that my black little bag with my medicine - I had a cold - with Aspirin, Ibu, Asthma-Spray, spray for the nose, Voltaren - all the things you might need when you are ill in a holiday - was not lying at the table anymore. I had put it there when we left, the room has been cleaned in the meantime, so I asked my husband if he had seen it. No. We looked everywhere but could not find it - even under the bed.... So at this point I thought maybe I had forgotten that I already had put it in my suitcase because we wanted to leave the next day, and because I was too lazy to check it which had meant to put everything out again, I somehow was convinced it must be there because I had checked the whole room.||At home when I unpacked my suitcase, I could not find it. Also, my little purse with my nailcare like file, scissors etc was not there.... It had been somehow valuable, made of leather and a present from my mum some years ago. And somehow had taken it out of my suitcase!! Not in the plane because it was handluggage!!||So be aware of your belongings in this hotel. Someone takes things out of your suitcase and things in your room, it does not need to be precious - no, just what the person likes to have!!!||We had put our money, valuables etc in the safe-box, so I am really glad about that, at least. But who thinks that someone would steal less expensive things out of the room?!||When I found out at home, I wrote to the hotel, also to the headoffice of the hotels, but I never got a response. So the hotel does not care about employees who steal. But I want to inform other guests, to either not book this hotel or lock EVERYTHING in a locked suitcase, do not leave anything in your room.... By the way, I am travelling since 60 years and this never has happened to me! So, better choose a...
Read moreWe stayed in this hotel during our visit to Barcelona in Dec 2022. Check-in was very easy, the staff was very friendly and very neat, and clean. Few good restaurants and cafes within walking distance. There is a Metro station nearby which is accessible by foot. The nearest one is Provenca and Diagonal ...we mostly used Diagonal which was very handy.
Our room was neat and clean. The bed was neatly arranged and the bathroom was clean. It had a shower, bath and toilet and bidet, hairdryer, mini bar with few drinks. There is a kettle and a few sachets of tea and coffee but no milk is provided which was very odd. The room was very warm. I can understand that it can be cold for some people hence the heating is required however, the hotel should allow customers to control the heating in individual rooms. We were told that they switch on the heating after September and that they can't switch ac or lower the temperature. However, the alternative solution was to open the window which is what we did. The roads are a bit noisy as buses are running late at night, recycling vans doing their rounds and people partying. This disturbed us the first night but the next few days it was OK as we got used to it and we all tried.
The hotel had breakfast and dinner options but we didn't take that offer. We just visited cafes for morning breakfast and dinner we choose different places to eat. The breakfast is €15 per person, and you get to choose cooked or cold or continental breakfast (don't quote me on the continental breakfast but cooked breakfast). The staff are very helpful and do speak English. We booked a taxi from our hotel to go airport in the morning which took 45 mins and they have a taxi meter so we paid according to that. Overall a good hotel in a...
Read moreThis hotel does not deserve to be rated as 4 star for multiple reasons.
#1 - Air conditioning, or lack there of!!! We visited last week of March and AC was not working. I couldn't sleep of how hot it was on certain days. We were told that some people asked for heating, others asked for cooling, so as a compromise management has decided to turn off air conditioning all together. This is completely unacceptable for a 4 star hotel, or any star rated hotel if they advertise as having AC - which they do. We specifically looked if hotel had air conditioning before booking.
#2. NOISE. Walls are paper thin. You will hear people talking in other rooms and hallway. You will hear every single door closing when people leave their rooms. You will hear people shouting in the backyard of the hotel - there is some playground with benches where locals and maybe visitors of the hotel hang around. If you are a light sleeper, avoid this hotel at all cost. One day circuit breaker started clicking in the middle of the night for no reason. They fixed this tomorrow when we told them about it, but it still took away from our sleep.
#3. The size of the rooms is terrible, at least the one we've been. As someone who grew up in European sized house/apartments, I'm used to small spaces, but this was ridiculous. We literally had between 80-100cm on the sides of the bed. Two people cannot go by each other on the same side of the bed. The whole room with the bathroom and entryway couldn't be bigger than 15 square meters.
The only good thing we can say about the hotel is that it was clean and...
