We stayed in this hotel a few days in April 2012, and can only confirm the positive reviews on this site. The hotel location is excellent. The Passeig de Gràcia, hosting some very interesting buildings from Gaudi and others and also a nice shopping street, is just a block away, as are the Avinguda Diagonal, Plaça de Catalunya and the Ramblas. The metro station Diagonal is nearby (when coming from line 3 or line 5, follow the signs in direction of the FGC station (line 6/7), which brings you to the Provença FCG station through some moving walkways and take the exit Balmes: it's just next to the hotel.
The original hotel design is very nice. Rooms are very clean and tasteful and the bathrooms are very nice. Every room is equipped with a safe. The free wifi is working reliably in the rooms and every room also has an Internet radio receiver which you can use to listen to radio stations from your home country. It's a nice gadget for this kind of hotel. Also, unlike many other hotels, every room has lots of power sockets for all the gadgets you might already be bringing from home. The breakfast also corresponded with our expectations.
The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. They have compiled their own list of interesting things to see and do in the city, together with hints about how to get there with public transports, and it also contains restaurant recommendations. Very helpful!
As some people already wrote, you can hear metro/train arriving in your room. However I want to say that this is not disturbing at all. It definitely did not prevent us from sleeping. Not all rooms have an exterior window, but this is also something which we did not consider a problem at alll. If you want a nice view, you'd better get out of your room to enjoy the nice city of Barcelona anyway!
So we were very happy with our stay here, and would definitely come back here and recommend it to others, especially if you want to try something different than the common, standard...
Read moremy room had no window that could be opened. the only window i had, faced the stairway so all the other guests could watch me from close up in my room - resulting: I kept the curtain closed 24/7 and lived under electric light during the day. horror. there was NO OXYGEN in my room. the aircon was to weak, no window - so I could not breathe. I felt really sick in the morning - after no more oxygen was left in the room and therefore I had horrible nights. the hotel was not occupied - so why did the check in person give me such a bad room? are all rooms this bad in thus hotel???? if not - then it was a very unprofessional behavior from check in and you should urgently educate him on that - because you lost me as a client and you force me to write this statements on google . the toilet was made for disables people (room 205) and looked not cozy at all. hotel design details are with strong barbie pink color accents (for a man a rather disturbing envirnonment). TV had 20 spanish chanels and BBC (1 lousy english chanel). when do hotels understand that guests mainly come from far away places and really don’t care at all about local TV. In the year 2023 it is so easy to offer chanels from the main European countries in different languages. What is the GM of this hotel doing all day? there is...
Read more⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ . I'd give it 6 stars if I could. . This is easily my favorite hotel in Barcelona. I was checked in by Thais and within 5 minutes of arriving was already having an absolute blast chatting with her. She's so awesome. Thanks, Thais! . The location is excellent, right on Roselló and Enric Granados (which is a super quaint street). It's a beautiful hotel located in l'Eixample right next to FGC Provença and Metro Diagonal stations. It's also just 2 blocks from la Rambla de Catalunya and an additional block to Passeig de Gràcia. I personally wouldn't rather stay anywhere else. . In addition to its bold colors, functionality, and being spotless--the room's bed and bedding are extremely comfortable. The air conditioning is amazing. The shower is absolutely divine. Great water pressure, awesome soaps, and consistent and powerful hot water. The shower is just an absolute dream (*but Barcelona is experiencing a drought right now, so please do your part to limit your water use). . Finally, a shout out to the housekeeping staff who are amazing and who so much of the daily awesomeness of the room is thanks to. . Overall an 11/10 experience. Would highly...
