Hostalet Barcelona — Hotel in Barcelona

!!!!!!Worst hostel experiences ever!!!!!! We booked a double room with balcony many months in advance to spend a romantic weekend in Barcelona. We paid in advance online. On arrival we had to pay extra. We checked in and where given a single bedroom without windows, non of the things that should have been included where included. We did not have a bathroom door but a a piece of wood hanging on the wall that did not close. The walls where of playwood so we could hear the neighbors breathing and if we were whispering the neighbors where pounded on the wall. The waste-pipe was next to our pillow so we was woken up every time someone flushes or used the water. We complained and wanted the room we paid for but the only answer the staff member or owner gave us was a ¨eeh¨ and a shrug of his shoulders. After asking 3 times for a better room or even a double room, with the same ¨Eeh¨ to an answer he finally said that if we stayed longer than we booked he could fix a better room next week. No apologies, no price reduction, no service and bad attitude, and we even had to pay extra on arrival. DON'T EVER BOOK THIS HOSTAL!! I CANNOT SAY THAT ENOUGH! If you have the option between a bunk bed in a 16 people room or this place, book the 16 people place. You will get more sleep and that will be more romantic than using the toilet in front of each other.

If there was a 0 star I would give it zero!! We were expecting a 2 star hotel as stated in trip advisor, it's not, it's an old apartment turned in to a hostel, however it was clean but had no windows, the bed had seen better days and the toilet was like a bucking bronco, no coffee or tea amenities in the room, not even a glass to drink out of, there was a nespreso machine by the concierge desk, € 1! And a water dispenser with no cups! The concierge was very rood and nasty! After walking through and registering and getting the room key we asked if on the day we were leaving could we leave our bags after checking out as we weren't flying until much later, after umming and aaahhing he eventually said yes, if it wasn't full!! Not true!! When we checked out we asked the same man if we could leave our bags and he said No! Only for people who arrive early for booking in!! Also the hostel charged us for the room the day after we booked the room 6 weeks before we were coming when on booking.com it stated that the payment would be made on checking out! All I can say is!! I wouldn't recommend this Hostel!! It costs the same as a hotel, make sure you get a hotel!! I hope this...
