Do you always eat dessert? I used not to eat dessert at all. Then I met my wife and I got used to eating dessert after each and every meal. 😅 Nowadays, I don't always feel like eating dessert. I recently came back from a trip to Asia and, there, most restaurants don't offer desserts. And I realized that, even here in Europe 🇪🇺, Asian restaurants don't bother offering desserts anymore. That makes sense: if you want dessert you go to a dessert place. Period. 🫡 The other night we were leaving a Chinese restaurant 🇨🇳 that did not offer dessert options. I was super full but my son insisted he want ice cream 🍨. We were just around the corner from La Cremeria Toscana so we took him there. I already mentioned I don't like their gelato too much (not their fault, I just don't like it 🤷) so I was not planning on having anything... yet I saw in their fridge something new that they call "nebules" (or maybe they misspelled "neules", in Catalan 🤔). It's a cigar-shaped dry waffle covered with chocolate and filled with some kind of cold (not ice) cream. And they had white chocolate and pistachio ones... and these I had to try. 😋 TBH, that sounded better than it was. The taste was ok but not great. I could not feel the pistachio too much. I don't know what the cream was but the texture was fine. What was less fine was that the waffle was too wide and only half of each bite ended up in my mouth... and the rest on the floor. 😓 I paid €3.5 for it and I found that slightly too expensive. For that price, I don't think I would repeat the experience.

Read moreWe were passing by and drawn in by what appeared to be excellent ice cream.. however, upon asking (in Spanish) what just two of the unlabelled flavours were, we were quickly given the impression that we were an inconvenience that the two girls serving weren’t prepared to deal with. As the first to “welcome” us sighed and walked away without saying anything further, smirking at the other as she left, we decided perhaps it wasn’t worth our time staying to purchase ice cream and we went elsewhere. Potentially great ice cream, spoiled by unnecessarily rude and unwelcoming “service”. There are plenty of other ice cream parlours in Barcelona where you won’t feel you’re being inconsiderate in attempting to try ice cream; I’d recommend trying...
Read moreGreat ice cream! UPDATE: after 3 years the ice cream is still great BUT the service, god.. is getting worse and worse. Obviously one of the girls that working there has some issues, never met such an anti sympatic service in Barcelona. Important to mention its not all the emloeyes but only one of them but seems that she is working there almost always. Anyway owner of this shop put attention who do you hire, after years of coming to your place we are just tired of bad treatment. Rating 3 stars after the previous 5 that we holded for 3 years...
