My partner and I stayed at Hostal Ninot in Barcelona for a friend's birthday at the weekend. We were greeted by very friendly and helpful staff. We booked the smallest double room, but it was surprisingly a lot bigger than I thought. The room had clean sheets, extra blanket and fresh towels. There was a side table and a lamp on each side of the bed. The bathroom was shared but never had any problems using it when needed. Also air con, TV and free wi-fi in the room too!! The neighbourhood is very safe and pleasant, not as noisy and busy as some more central location. The hostel is close to a big health shop, supermarkets, pharmacy and cafe/bar and restaurants. We went for breakfast just across the road before setting off on our daily adventure. The hotel is about 15 mins walk from a Metro station and 5mins walk from but stops which takes you to various directions. We are really pleased with our stay at the hotel, we especially liked that the premises, rooms and bathrooms are cleaned daily to a high standard. The hostel was easy to get to and from and the staff was very friendly. Highly recommend if you are on a small budget as it was great value for our money. Thank you...
Read moreOK...first of all.. A Hostal (with an "A") is NOT the same as a Hostel (with an "E")||||Hostal is the word used in Spain to describe a small family run hotel...similar to say a pensione in France or Italy. They offer great value for someone who doesnt need room service, pool, concierge etc.||||El Ninot is certainly one of these. It is immaculately clean, well run, with a central location in a great neighbourhood.||||Although it was just the two of us, we splurged for a Triple room (#14) which opened onto to a spacious terrace shared with a couple of other rooms.||||The immediate 'hood is chock a block with bars, shops, restaurants etc. In fact there is a convenience store directly beneath the hostal, a fruit shop next door....and a spectacular pastry shop across the street.||||There are a couple of Metro stops within a short walk, including the brand new Provenca Metro/train station just one stop from Placa Catalunya (where the Airport Bus terminates.||||Big shout out to the restaurant Scirocco at the corner of Paris and D'Urgell ( a 5 minute walk around the block...
Read moreI don't understand the good reviews on this place. I was there last in November. For 50 euros per night, you got a room with no windows (mine was number 8). It is very small that you don't even know where to put your luggage. The bathroom is even worst. It smells terrible. It's really really small. The walls are sheet of paper. Good luck to sleep. It not deserve half the price I paid. Don't always trust the good reviews and the nice photos on internet...
Answer to your reply : You should take a look to some of your comments on TripAdvisor and booking. After some new searchs, I can see I'm not the only one feeling unhappy with your hotel. And the reasons are mostly the same. Thanks God you're not the best quality price in Barcelona. I guess the minimum you have to say when you are a honest hotel is that there is no windows in the room. You can not rent a 10m2 room without windows and without telling the client before then say...
