First of all I'm currently at Hotel Rambla, it's just moved into Wednesday mornin 18th June 2025.
I don't write reviews, especially long ones, this is really a first for me!
I had to write this to express my dissatisfaction
Background.. I work in social care and my brother is recently retired I travel to Spain often, this was his first ever visit, I wanted him to have a good experience of Spain, instead it felt like that 1980 horror movie 'Motel Hell' We were given spacious rooms with balconies and street views which was ok, even though my AC wasn't working... I later learned that it's controlled by the hotel only and kicks in when the temperature is above 28°c for brief periods I woke up the first 2 nights around 3am sweating like a glass blowers arse, because it was probably around 25°c and therefore wouldn't trigger the controlled AC! Damp pillow time then.. I overlooked little faults in the room and hotel because to be fair I got a decent price on it and it's an old hotel and isn't perfect.
Then... Late Sunday night 15th June 2025 "They" arrived, the 2 people placed right next door to me, I cannot for decency sake go into detail here, but I found them (I'll be polite here) 'very intrusive and inconsiderate'
Then by the 2nd night of "them" abiding next door to me I lost a huge chunk of my nights sleep, I lay awake annoyed and sweating, this annoyance turned to anger by 7am because "they" kept me awake mostly all night. I banged the wall connecting us loudly, injured my right hand, and screamed at them to shut up, I was now becoming like a crazy person I marched downstairs to reception and demanded to be moved that day to another room because I simply couldn't face my final 3 nights in this room tormented, it took a lot of anger for the desk staff to agree to move me, told to come back at 4pm
I walked alone along levante beach trying to lose my anger but I came to realise this had spoilt my trip and probably my brother thought Spain was a giant skip fire best to be avoided?!
Does it get dafter?... You bet!
Arriving back at the hotel Rambla before 4pm, I packed my suitcase and sat in reception waiting to be given another room Reception staff gave me the key fob to room 207, I went there, opened the door and what I saw was frightening (as well as horrible) the bed was well slept in and had white sheets all crumpled up in the middle, it looked like somebody(s) had a good jump in that bed! cigarette ends and packet on the desk table, several dirty white towels bundled up and left in the bathtub and the scariest part of all a pair of leopard effect panties hanging half out of the bathroom small bin like they were trying to crawl out of it on their own! My mood changed to dismay I went downstairs again, said the room was rotten and that I couldn't move in there (I didn't have my mobile phone or i would have taken pictures)
I was then given the keys to a room on the first floor this time, this room looked passable, had been housemaid serviced, looked like a prisoners cell but no balcony! I said that I gave up a superior room to get peace and was given an inferior room in it's place. I asked to be moved to a room similar to the one I left, I was told point blank that this is all they've got otherwise it's back to my old room to be tormented by the hyenas!
I asked for my money back so that I could just escape and go and find another better hotel and was told to contact the holiday company I booked with, in this case www.onthebeach.co.uk for any refund I said I will email them when I'm home I moved into this triangular room and swished open the depressing red shiny curtains only to see a space that the Spanish call a 'patio de luz' (a voided space that stretched upwards in the building) the view was ugly and stupid, I could see an almost small square patio,no access to it and there were broken parts of the building laying in it and it looked like it's been voided and untouched since the early 1980s, except for the one pair of mens black boxer shorts with a white waistband laying damp in full view...
Read moreWell where do I start! Read reviews on the hotel and decided they can’t all be bad hmmmm. I can now see why they were bad, our booking stated we could check in at 2pm we Arrived at 1pm to be told we could not check in until 4pm as our room wasn’t ready. We had to take our cases to the pool area and sit while the room was being cleaned or supposed to have been cleaned. Wrong it was minging. ||||Pool area ||Advertised lawn pool sun loungers. What they forgot to say was rubble round sides of pool and cuttings of the fake grass lying to the side area which was supposed to be a pathway out on to the street. ||Room||When we did get our room we just burst out laughing at the state of it. There was more lumps and bumps on the ceiling the road outside was smoother. On to the balcony where two plastic seats and a round rusty table welcomed us. The paint and plaster on the walls were all colours from being patched up. ||The room that was cleaned or so-called the dust was lying on bedside lockers tissues under the bed and last but not least two drawers where we went to put our stuff when you opened the drawers the base part also opened so noting could be put in them. Balcony door would not lock (we asked for it to be fixed and still waiting It was never done ) no fridge in room. Tv with no remote no kettle ||||Bathroom ||Tap on sink was rusty bath was dirty looking as it was that old and the coating on it was gone. Long dark Hairs were lying beside the toilet and even though the room was cleaned each day the same hairs were mopped to different parts of the bathroom floor.cleaner did eventually change our towels but didn’t leave any to replace them when went to reception to get more they came up to check room before they gave us more ||||Food ||We were bed and breakfast which we tried on day one that was enough. The fresh pears were nice and the mederia cakes also that was only thing we ate. ||Staff|| not very pleasant. Or approachable with the exception of one lady who smiled but had very little English. Then there was the parrot type bird flying round the reception area and dumping all over place.||We made the most of our stay by staying and eating at the beach each day and out to new town at night. One good point was it was good location short 5 minutes walk to beach. ||I do not know how this is a 3 star hotel ||Would I stay here again ? Not a chance ||I would definitely return to the area but...
Read moreI was actually very very surprised, my dad booked this for a small family getaway and looking at the reviews and was worried what we had made a huge mistake! As it was only 3 men was quite happy to bite the bullet for 3 nights. But I will say the room was clean, couldn't find any fault with it one but, beds somewhere to sleep bathroom clean and mould free and good water pressure. We spent little time in the room other than sleep and shower so in that case was worth the money, I wouldn't want to spend lots of time there as nothing to do in the room or hotel. Remote for the TV for 5 Euro not nothing I've not seen before in Spain, got my 5 Euro back. Towels changed first day but not second when I went and asked she was a little "Aggressive" possible just passion mixed with language barrier but wanted us to leave them in the bath (Which we did) and I don't believe the rooms were cleaned on the Sunday but as we only slept wasn't needed. No kettle is a shame and breakfast was a let down we only went one day and spent the 15 Euro going somewhere else, I'd advise saving on breakfast and taking a 2 min walk anywhere else. Staff all friendly enough and safe place to leave bags when checking out at 12 but not getting our flight till 8pm. Would I stay again? Maybe it did what we need but I can imagine there are better rated places that offer the exact same for less. Location was 2 min from shop/pharmacy and beach. 15 min walk from the main strip so location was 10/10 off one main street so no noise from the main strip or beach. Hotel was quiet and no stag does and partied that being said I think we was the only ones born post 1990 staying! There was pool but we did not use it as the beach was so close but looked...
