After finishing are 11 night holiday at globales mimosa I wanted to write an update honest review of are holiday as a whole. We have never made a bad comment on holidays as we are very open minded! But this one we had to as a warning to others!||||Rooms - shower only in are bathroom which may be an inconvenience to others. We asked for are room to be cleaned about 4/5 times during are stay and none of them where done properly. We are pretty sure are bed sheets are the same ones we had when we arrived as they have the same marks on them, so they were just made again. We also one time found feces on are sheets one time (which I did ask to be changed and was resolved as that’s disgusting but it shouldn’t happen in the first place) Mould on sliding doors to balcony (which was never cleaned properly might I add apart from one occasion) vent taped to the ceiling and holes and marks on curtains. The hairdryer works for all of 2 minutes if lucky so bring your own. Kettle is extra charge (not sure how much) and safe is also an extra €10 per night I believe which we refused to pay. As I know the reply will be ‘it states on our website’ yes it might but as we booked (and many others) through a holiday company this was not bought up.||||Pool- After we complained there was magically little entertainment by the pool which included a few dances by the pool, some games and low level music as they never put it louder and refused if you asked. If you have mobility issues you will not be using the pool, no ramp or stairs into the pool only the metal ones where you have to go back which always felt like they where going to break and are an accident waiting to happen (they went on my daughter who is only 5 so can’t say weight related). The female lifeguard does not let you have ball games In the pool so be aware of that and inflatables are also not permitted. You have tokens that get you a drink and you’re not allowed to get more than 2 drinks at a time. Other than 6 alcoholic drinks you have to pay around €6.50 for it, ice creams by the bar are also not free and are at least €3 each same for slushies (they don’t even take cash!!) So even on an AI it’s not and there were several complaints coming from people who were ordering in-front of me so it wasn’t just me who was annoyed by this. Pool is small in my opinion for the size of the hotel and in peak season I would say it’s going to get very busy!||||Food- like I said before If you’re wanting to start a diet then this is your place! Only a little U shape dining room again not big enough to accommodate, if your fussy definitely don’t come here! From my previous review the person replied what was apparently there. This was not the case and some stuff wasn’t even labelled and I had to ask what it was. When I complained about this to the tui rep we got a letter under are door that afternoon saying she had spoken to reception and they said WE have to ask for different food for my child who is a picky eater! You should already be catering for children we shouldn’t have to ask. Loads of people also complained in the dining room during dinner as there is no soft drink available as the machines were turned of and if you wanted a drink, again you had to pay! We went out 3 times as we got ill on some of the food, most of its oily and a pasta dish had plastic in it which I soon bought to attention. There was one waiter who we tipped as he was so kind to my daughter and even bought her a drink as she got upset on a couple of occasions as we forgot to bring are own drinks (we refused to give them more of are money).||||Entertainment- very dull and not many people turned up, bingo and mini disco every night but again max amount of kids that turned up was 5. The entertainers done their very best to make the children happy no matter how many which we appreciated a lot and so did my daughter!||||Overall I would still not come back to this hotel and would say the same to anyone I know. They con you for extra money even though it’s an AI, dirty rooms needs a repair and update, and food also needs to be looked at.||||On the upside marine land is worth a look at as my daughter loved it but do not pick the gold ticket as you don’t get your moneys worth! We also took a trip up to the shops near Catedral de Mallorca and went to candy heaven (definitely the biggest sweet shop I’ve ever been to) only downside is if you don’t drive or know how to do the buses it will cost about €24 each way. For restaurants out of the hotel we went o banana joes, Tom browns (in Magaluf) and turtle beach which were all lovely and had great service, their food was always hot and we actually forgot we had to blow are food before...
Read moreFirst of all, the hotel is in a great location. No doubt about that. Close to a beach, close to restaurants, shops, supermarket and even a pharmacy if you need something.
The hotel looks clean from the moment you arrive and the staff was friendly.
The food during breakfast, lunch and dinner was all great. Huge variety to chose from. Lots of veggies, fruits, meat, desserts. Anything you can think of, you will probably find it at some point of your stay.
Now, the cons of my stay and my experience at the hotel and my 6 night stay.
The elevators. One of the worse things at this hotel. If you're an elderly, or have any health issues, makes sure you request a room on the bottom floors. There are only 3 elevators and they are very small. Bare in mind this hotel has 9 floors, 10 if you include the pool bar floor.
Most of the times I wanted to use the elevators, I ended up walking to floor 6. I was staying with my dad who is in his 60s. It wasn't pleasant unfortunately. Waiting times for an elevator to stop at your floor was sometimes up to 10 minutes and my dad had to wait for it because it caused him a lot of leg pain when he used the stairs.
Rooms are not soundproof. This hotel was one of the noisiest places I've been to. You could hear people laughing, coughing, walking... you name it all. Not just from rooms next door but also from floors above and below. Also I could hear people laughing downstairs having drinks. Let me remind you I was on the 6th floor. So if you want a good night's sleep, look for a hotel that has good soundproof walls.
Another disappointing thing about the stay in that hotel was the fact that you have to pay for all the things that you need, such as iron, a kettle, hairdryer and so on and so on. I had an all inclusive stay booked and still had to pay for all the thing I named if I wanted to use them. Every hotel I've been to so far had a hair dryer and a kettle with cups and a tea/coffee sachets in a room.
Why would you even question yourself if you going to have these things in a room when you got all inclusive and paid a lot of money for a stay???
The bathroom door was not working properly. It was catching the floor I wanted to open and close the door making a really annoying and loud noise. When needing to use the bathroom at night, I would always end up waking up my partner. Really annoying.
Being at the pool and having some drinks. Be careful when you are in the pool and have your drink placed near you on the ground.
I was told off by the lifeguard that I can't have my drink on the pool ground near me when I'm in the pool. Yes, fair enough and it's respectful. I moved my drink immediately.
The next day however, 6 people were at the pool having their drink next to the pool, just like I did 2 of them even had a drink in their hand. The lifeguard just watched them not saying a word. Double standards? Disrespect? Racism? I don't know but it pissed me off. Treat everyone the same. Either let people do things and don't let them do it. Don't pick and choose who can do certain things and who can't.
Last but not least. The trips organising people, who sit near the reception who were meant to help or even encourage people to book some sort of trip/attractions.
Lots of leaflets around with 2 tables and a sign what time they are going to be there. Not once I had a chance to speak to them and offer me some attractions.
They were either on a phone, or not there on time, or not there at all.
1 time they actually wanted to offer some of the trips, it was a group meeting and it was in French, Spanish, German ......but not English.
We ended up walking around Palmanova and organised a couple of trips ourselves. Probably came out better this way as it would cost a fortune knowing that place....
This review is 100% how i felt during my stay and this is how I rate not just my stay, but also the people who were with me.
I will definitely come back to Palmanova, but will 100% not chose Globales hotel chain. Too many disadvantages for a...
Read moreWe first came to this hotel in 2019 and although a great hotel for location, it's sad to see that somethings are the same or have not improved.||The Hotel: rooms were spacious and it was nice to have a daily maid service as this can sometimes be every other day in other hotels. The beds were a bit too hard for our liking but it is not want we are used to and some extra pillows would have been an advantage. A kettle and some teas and coffees would be a nice addition rather than having to carry hot drinks about the hotel and allow that first thing/last thing tea or coffee. I know the hotel is all about saving plastic but it would have been a nice touch to have complimentary bottles of water in the fridge which we would have refilled at each meal in the dining room. We encountered a few cockroaches but they were dealt with swiftly and promptly. A few of the staff could learn to be a bit more politer and smile.||It may be worth advising guests or having a sign somewhere that the back steps and gate are only open certain hours of the day to stop people trying to use them when closed, especially those with clear mobility issues.||Pool Area: there are numerous broken tiles around the pool and at the steps leading down which if someone slipped could be dangerous. There has to be changes to the access to the pool. Every single one of the steps going in came out of the holdings several times per day and you could see people struggling to get in and out because of this. Despite these negatives one positive was there was no fighting over sun beds of which there are plenty of over several areas. Despite the pool not opening until 10 no matter what time you got down there was always space.||Food and Drink: for a 4 star hotel, the food could on occasion be better although it was nice seeing cooking stations which were not there before and for more than just pork to be on the menu as was the case in 2019. I understand that it is a buffet but the heating of the food could be held better and may be worth covering up the cheeses as they looked 'sweatier' as the day went on. It was nice to see Pepsi Max as an option for AI drinks but it would have been nicer to have more than one cocktail without orange in it. Most other 4 star hotels have what is classed as your basic cocktails included and only having to pay for premium cocktails.||Evening Entertainment: I'm not sure who planned the timings and as a couple who don't have kids, we could not understand why a kids mini disco would be on at 9pm at night when this is when most main entertainment starts. It may be worth looking at the timings as you may find more kids join in as right not despite the Animación doing their best most nights they are fighting a losing battle which is not fair on them. Out of our fortnight stay, I can honestly say that the only 2 acts we would see again was Marco's show and the night where Andre Juan performed. I understand that these acts are here to make a living but having magic acts where you can tell how the trick is being done to having someone on your Animación team do so much better than a paid singer would suggest something needs to be looked at.||Animación: last but not least, your fabulous team who are all a credit to the Globales brand and to lose any of them would be a shame. Marcos, Lucas, Katarina and Chamayn are so full of energy and take an interest in you as a person. It can't be easy to get people motivated during the day especially when we come on holiday to relax but they continue on and are usually still full of energy during bingo as they were during Aquafit.||Overall we had a lovely time and I wouldn't sway people from not coming here but I would give my honest opinion. We won't be back but that is more personal choice and stage of life than...
