Staff at the Hotel are very friendly and cannot be faulted. the reception, restaraunt teams, bar teams and animation teams go the extra mile to be familiar with you and make you feel welcome.
Breakfast, lunch, dinner could be a little confusing during our stay due to a conference taking place and having to use the two sister hotels (Santa Ponsa Park / Pionero) for different meals on certain days.
The food was most excellent with lunch being served at the sister hotels across the road. Lunch and Dinner options were always varied and never got boring with all meals being very enjoyable. Breakfast was OK. The snack bar again located in the sister hotel offered an excellent range of food throughout the day up until midnight. For the most part foodwise we definitely benifitted from the 4* service of the sister hotels and it was great to freely use the whole complex.
You are issued all inclusive cups on arrival that you must carry with you at all times amd there is a charge for loosing them (Fortunately we did not) I think this is mainly to cut down on cup collectiom around the pools and save on single use plastics. Glassware is offered at all meals and evening entertainment though.
Evening entertainment was always excellent and again always located in the sister hotels. Bands and singers were of great quality and the Animation team do a wonderful job of putting on a wide variety of activities. We never felt the need to venture out of the complex to watch other entertainment, however most evening shows did not start until 10pm and it would be nice to have entertainment beginning from 8pm even if it was background music as to get seated you do have to arrive a few hours prior to the entertainment starting.
The hotels are perfectly clean with staff working hard to keep the hotel immaculate at all times, towels are changed daily and rooms are also cleaned daily.
The rooms are quite dated and are to be expected at a 3* hotel. Curtains do not fully close allowing light to flood in early. The bed however was comfortable and the air conditioning worked impressively.
The bathroom is what really lets the room down for us. We speak on behalf of room 401 and are not able to comment on the other rooms. The shower is not fit for purpose. Even the smallest person would struggle to fit or turn in the shower cubicle and the shower screens are inoperable, a drain has been installed at the centre of the bathroom as it is clear the bathroom would regularly flood from the inaqequate shower room if it wasnt and it feels the money would have been better invested into a servicable shower. It did get tiresome to shower outside of the cubicle and lean in to wash hair etc. The clean up of the flooded bathroom was also tiresome after every shower. And meant using the toilet or getting to the sink could be very inconvenient whilst waiting for the bathroom to dry.
Luckily we had family staying in the 4* sister hotel and borrowing their shower in order to feel properly refreshed was a god send at times.
I really feel the bathroom needs urgent attention and is the biggest thing holding this hotel back from a higher potential. For this reason alone I would not stay at this hotel again. I can happily and confidently say I would however most certainly book a stay again in the sister hotels.
Cupboard space is aqequate with plenty of hangers and storage space.
The room is also equipped with a good quality television.
The hotel has adequate sun loungers and a very good choice of pools.
The hotel is a stones throw from the beach, shops and bars and could not be better located. 2 min walk to the beach, 10 to the strip and a 5 euro taxi trip to the square.
All in all an excellent, enjoyable stay with plenty going on. Due to the bathroom I would not stay in the Playa agai. I feel that this needs urgent attention as it falls well below even 3* expectations. I would not hesitate to rebook at either the Pionero or Santa Ponsa Park and will return.
The great part about the Playa is that you have good access to the 4* Pionero and...
Read moreI recently stayed at this hotel in Mallorca. I can confidently say that the hotel lives up to its current star rating, but with a few improvements, it could easily be rated 4 stars. The room, like in most resort hotels, is not very big, but unless you've brought half your wardrobe from home, there's enough space in the closet and on the shelves for all your things. Unfortunately, the bathroom is a bit cramped, and the shower cabin might feel too small for larger people. Upon check-in, you're given reusable cups which you must use in the bars and snack areas. On the one hand, this helps the hotel identify that you're a guest and not someone who just walked in from the street for free food and drinks. But on the other hand, without the cup, you won’t be able to get any drinks included in the "all inclusive" package — you'd have to pay for them. Regarding the food, after 4–5 days you’ll likely have tried everything available. It would be nice to have 3–4 more dishes to add some variety to breakfast and dinner. Outside of meal times, you can't get any food except for drinks — you’ll have to go to another building of the hotel, which can be a bit inconvenient and frustrating at times. On the positive side, the staff are very kind and helpful. They speak Spanish and English, and if needed, there are also employees who can provide information in Polish, German, or Russian. There's a swimming pool on the hotel grounds (open from 10 AM to 6 PM), and also a football/basketball court, which is great for kids or large groups. The sea is just a 5–7 minute walk from the hotel. Overall, the hotel fully meets expectations for the price. With a few small improvements mentioned above, it could definitely earn a...
Read more3* as this is a 3* hotel. Location is amazing: just 3 min. on foot from this beautiful beach. Quiet enough, specially past 23.30. You can hear all the commotion in the hallway if the stayers decide to be a bit more vocal. 2 lifts to upper flights. Really small ones as they would only take 1 buggy and an adult. Stairs are a gentle workout. Rooms are on the small side. As a family of 3 there is no room other than to manouver around the beds. Beds are good enough. Air conditioning working properly though dated like the rooms. Bathroom is tiny. Comes with shower, sink, toilet. Hairdryer included. Toilet paper & towels also. Bar, pool for adults, pool for kids. Sunbeds.
2.2 euros a day per person as local tax payable at the hotel. By card or cash. As for cash, all the ATMs are releasing min. 20 euros for 3.95 comission. Hefty.
All staff top marks. From Reception to Food Court and Cleaning Staff.
Word of advice: tips to go directly to the person you like, not to the tip box ( this one is pocketed by the company not going to be split equaly betwen kitchen & food court personnel ).
We would like to say THANK YOU / MUCHAS GRACIAS to all but specially to Simona, Lujan, Lisa, Wada, David, Francisco. Hope we got the names right. They are all working good and hard. Always there, kind, helpful, smilling, greeting. Making it easy for us.
All inclusive is good as food is plenty, good and tasty. They know their job. Never returned a plate. Even though food is 90% the same each day, it's a lot to chose from without repeating too much. Nothing specially for kids, but always something tasty & healthy for them from youngest age up.
