Café Mozart — Restaurant in Calvià

I have lived in Santa Ponsa for 25 + years, and have visited cafe Mozart on only a few occasions, as l have not had good experiences in the past, mainly due to the service. I now only go there when friends ask to meet somewhere that they can easily find. It is in a good position in an area that l frequent on a very regular basis, in summer and winter. My experiences have not lived up to what l expect from any type of cafe bar . The quality and the presentation of the drinks is very good, but it does have a price to match the quality, which is a little on the high side. In my opinion, the failing is on the service , which even at quiet times is a , l will get to you when l feel like it situation. On my last visit at the end of June 2023 , my party of 4 ordered and paid for drinks at a value of approx € 42-00 We paid with a € 50-00 note, but we're not offered any change. As we would have normally left a tip of approximately € 5-00 for this size of bill we didn't make a fuss in the bar and just left. My issue is certainly not about the money, it is the principle . This is not the 1st time that this has happened at this bar, and l feel sad as a Santa Ponsa resident that l no longer wish to visit this establishment. If l feel like this, what must the valued tourists feel like if they are been charged a high price for their drinks and then are not given any change. Not a good look for the wonderfull resort of...

The restaurant looks very welcoming but as soon as sitting down i got a whiff of cigarette smoke which stayed the whole visit and ruined my appetite. It was all good when we sat down and got our menus but as soon as the food arrived my hope completely dissapeared. Although the food arrived quickly, it was poorly made. The pasta was poorly made (multiple types) and the Paella was far from a real one. It's certainly not authentic food, which it should be because of the insane prices. The customer service was very cold and distant and I didn't feel welcome. As soon as we had eaten our food the came and took it away and the didn't try at all to convince us to stay. Typically at restaurants they try to offer desserts for example, but not one time did they do that.

I don't recommend this place if you want to pay a lot for poorly and...

Wir haben heute im Café Mozart zu Mittag gegessen. 4 Personen und unsere Bestellung war wie folgt:

2 x Currywurst 1 x Avocado Ei Salat 1 x Baked Potato 1 x Käsekrainer plus Getränke

= 94 Euro!!!

Die Currywurst schmeckte alt und war nicht gebraten bzw. gegrillt, sondern nur aufgewärmt. Die Currysauce war langweilig und nicht abgeschmeckt, klar eine Fertigsauce und nicht selbstgemacht. Meines Erachtens nach ein Fertigprodukt aus der Plastikschale. Das unverschämte jedoch ist der Preis von über 10 Euro für diese mindere Qualität!

Noch deutlich unverschämter war das Chili con Carne. Ca. 12 Euro für ein aufgewärmtes Dosenfutter. Hier war nichts frisch oder selbstgemacht. Aus meiner Studentenzeit weiss ich noch genau wie eine Fertigsuppe aus der Dose schmeckt mit schön viel Glutamat und wenig Geschmack. Leider unterirdisch und nicht zu empfehlen.

Die Baked Potato kommt lieblos und mit viel Salat verdeckt am Tisch an. Auch hier keine frische Ware. Die Kartoffel war mehlig, trocken und nicht heiss. Klares Indiz, dass die Kartoffel nicht frisch zubereitet wurde und älter ist. Üblicherweise kommt die Baked Potato in einer heissen Alufolie direkt aus dem Ofen und dampft. Hier würde Salat auf der Kartoffel sofort welken.

Um die ganze schlechte Erfahrung noch abzurunden, kam der Inhaber um zu fragen was nicht in Ordnung war. Leider keine aufrichtige Entschuldigung seinerseits. Er hat seine Produkte verteidigt und behauptet alles wird frisch zubereitet. Sein Servicepersonal hatte vorher bereits zugegeben, dass nichts davon frisch zubereitet wird und sich entschuldigt.

Der Service ist wirklich nett, der Inhaber sollte sich das Konzept nochmals gut überlegen. Eventuell nur Getränke, Kuchen, Eis und Frühstück anbieten, wenn man keinen ausgebildeten Koch anstellen möchte.
