We stayed for 4 nights in early February. The hotel was easy to find on entering the town and we parked using the ample free parking on the main street. Entering the hotel was more confusing. We went initially to the bar/cafe with an entrance at the front. A very friendly member of staff though soon realised what was happening and escorted us down the side to the sea front entrance to the new building which is were the accommodation is sited.||That new building displays a 2 star sign. However what you see certainly belies that. It is ultra modern, bright and very stylish looking at least 4 star. The booking in process was very quick and efficient and one of the owners came to greet us. We were shown how to open the front door using the smart key and shown to our room on the second floor.||The room was bright and cheerful painted white with splashes of colour. It had a comfortable double bed, desk, fridge ,flat screen tv and working free wi-fi. The bathroom had an oversized bath with shower etc in a large room. The real star though was the terrace accessed through the large patio doors. This was decked in wood facing the sea and was absolutely enormous. It came with 2 unusual loungers and gave views over the beach. Far far better than many hotels with a 5 star rating.||Breakfast was included and taken in the cafe bar. This comprised freshly squeezed orange juice, generous amounts of 'parma ' style local ham, cheese, chopped tomato, jams etc all served with a smile and fresh coffee or tea. Extra coffee and juice was brought as soon as staff realised we had consumed it. Whilst the food was more or less the same each day it was of such a high quality this did not matter at all.||Departure was just as efficient as our arrival and the bill which included 3 meals in the superb restaurant was very, very reasonable. I did though note that the walk in rate was quite a bit higher than that I got through booking, com||In summary this is a quite superb small hotel with very personal friendly service, top notch facilities and a beach front location in this lovely very Spanish resort. The owners and staff have very limited English yet despite out poor Spanish this proved no problem at all and I would recommend the Las...

Read moreWe stayed here for a one night stopover as we were driving from Ronda to Denia. We were really pleased with our choice. Carboneras is a small Spanish seaside town, there is an industrial area to the south but don’t let this put you off. The beaches are clean and this hotel is behind a pedestrianised promenade straight onto the beach. ||We were concerned as our car was full of luggage and initially we were driving round for a few minutes but we found a piece of land right next door to the hotel which felt very safe to leave our car.||The only person in the hotel who spoke English worked in the kitchen and embarrassingly we have very little Spanish. The owners and staff were so friendly it really didn’t matter. The owners welcomed us and we thought our room was perfect. The restaurant and bar are on the ground floor, there are about six identical bedrooms on the first floor and possibly two bedrooms with larger balconies on the second floor. We had a room on the first floor, it was immaculately clean. There was a spacious bathroom with a good shower over the bath, a safe, large wardrobe, a small TV which we didn’t use and excellent air-conditioning. The balcony with a useful small rack to dry clothes was bigger than expected with a small table and two stools and great views of the sea.||We ate in the restaurant which opened at 8pm but didn’t get busy until later. The food portions were generous and there were little extras. It was all homemade from the starters we had ham croquettes, to two delicious Iberian pork dishes with well cooked vegetables and homemade apple pie with cookie ice cream for pudding. Our bill with drinks and a tip was 70 euros. We shared the starter and dessert as portions were generous and we also had bread on the table.||The breakfast that was included was more than adequate. Coffee/freshly squeezed orange juice, toasted baguettes with cheese, meats and tomato.||We only heard Spanish spoken by everyone including other guests while we were there which was great. If you stay I am sure you...
