Apartamentos La Jabega — Hotel in Fuengirola

I will give you a real review as my Wife and I have just returned from here yesterday after staying for 11 nights.

Hotel - Pros: Nice and clean. The staff are friendly enough. Great location. Cons: Check-in can feel slow. The lifts work when they want to and can have a mind of their own. Theyre also too small, they say it fits 4 people but its a squeeze at 3. Other occupants can be very noisy, especially when they move furniture around which you're not supposed to do.

Rooms - Pros: Basic and dated, although they were clean. Air Con is a must, so pay the €30 deposit. Balcony is a good size. Beds are very comfy and are a good size, basically large single beds. Cons: Only get sun in the afternoon. People in opposite hotel can be nosey, so be careful what you get up to. Cleaners dont change bed sheets often, didn't change ours for 8 days which isn't good enough. We purposely made a small mascara stain to see if they changed them.

Location - Pros: Basically on the beach. Everything within walking distance. Cons: Spanish lads like to drive very loud motorbikes at late night/early hours right past the hotel, but I guess that is a negative of being so close to the beaches. A lack of respect in my opinion, but thats the Spanish for you.

Drinks/Food - Pros: Bar Jabega is great. Food is lovely. Staff are great and have a laugh with you. Antonio was brilliant, one of the nicest guys you can meet. Cons: Prices are higher than nearby restaurants. Entertainment is good, but can be repetitive as the singers mainly sing the same songs each night.

All in all, it was a good stay, and I probably would stay there again. I have been as honest as I can, and I hope this helps give people an insight into this hotel...

We have been coming to Fuengarola for the past 10 years and i have to say this is the worst accommodation that we have ever stayed in.|On arrival we were given a room on the 4th floor right to the rear of the building (very, very little view of the sea) we had booked a sea view! We went to reception and were told that the Jabega classed all of its rooms as having a sea view!|The staff told us that they could not change the room, (most unhelpful and did not appear to care.|The room had no proper bed, only a sofa bed made up in an L shape, the mattress was very thin, approximately 2 to 3 inches thick, most uncomfortable!|The decor is very, very dated and requires replacing, there was a very bad odour coming into the apartment I believe from the ventilation ducts in the bathroom and kitchen.|The fittings in the bathroom were rusty and the overall cleanliness was appalling. As other reviews have stated the lifts are very small, only 3 people at a time leading to delays in the lift arriving.|In reception we observed a large Cockroach crawling from under one of the seats, we informed reception and he crushed it under his foot and did not clean it up!|In the bar we found some of the staff to be a little rude.|I can’t believe some of the reviews on trip adviser giving this place the thumbs up and so few bad reviews, the only good thing i can say is that the location is good.|We will Never stay...

When we booked this hotel what we didnt realise was that it didnt have a pool ! we were very disapointed about that however upon checking in our room was not ready and the male receptionist was a frosty to say the least we had a 3 hour wait until it was ready which was most annoying so we headed to the bar and had our lunch when we did eventually get checked in we had a front facing room with a view to the sea and a balcony to sit out on. Upon entering the room the two single beds were positioned in an l shape made to look like a sofa i did not like this and moved the beds together upon further inspection the mattresses were about 2 inches thick the sunbeds on the beach had thicker mats ! and the pillow we both had were very flat and not comfortable the beds were not comfortable at all the rooms seriously need upgrading the towels in the bathroom were not very big no bigger than a hand towel se we used our beach towels instead maid service was ok depending who was on that day they have a sunday off the rest of the hotel was nice the bar and restaurant were good the food was good and the service was good the bar and waiting staff all very attentive and nice to deal with we spent 3 days at the beach 7 euros each for a sunbed each day! Feungirola was nice but would i go there again probably not would i saty in that...
