Construction Work Detracts from an Otherwise Pleasant Stay

Unfortunately, during our stay in May 2025, extensive construction work was taking place right in front of the hotel entrance. In addition, the rooftop terrace and pool were closed due to renovations—a real shame, as these areas looked particularly inviting in the photos.

Despite the hotel's location on a busy street, noise was not an issue thanks to the excellent soundproofing: we couldn’t hear any street noise, sounds from the nearby school, or even the construction. The room itself was nicely darkened, and the bed—including a wide selection of pillows—was exceptionally comfortable. I slept very well.

The hotel offers two underground parking garages: one with direct access to the building and another across the street. The parking fee is €18 per day, though it may be lower when booking directly through the hotel. The parking spaces are somewhat tight and require careful maneuvering, but they are still usable. Due to the construction, we had to move our car once. There was also a brief power outage one night, but it didn’t cause any major inconvenience.

The staff were mostly very friendly and helpful. At check-in, we received useful tips about local attractions. We spontaneously chose to upgrade to a Junior Suite, which turned out to be a worthwhile decision: for an extra €33 per night, we got an additional room with a cozy seating area.

An early check-in was accommodated without issue, and the late check-out until noon was also appreciated.

On the ground floor, you’ll find the reception, a restaurant with a bar (which we didn’t try), a small but well-equipped fitness room (with a treadmill, step machine, bikes, and strength equipment), and the breakfast area.

Breakfast was very good: tasty, varied, and featuring a number of Spanish specialties. The (freshly squeezed?) orange juice, pastries, and fruit were also of good quality. Everything was very clean and well-maintained. However, the design of the breakfast area could be more inviting—it felt a bit sterile and plain. Unfortunately the employees seem to be under much pressure and start stressing the guests even if breakfast is still served for more than half an hour (until 10:30 am).

The elevators were quick and provided easy access to the rooms and, in theory, the rooftop terrace—which, as mentioned, was closed due to construction.

The room itself was modern and clean, with no carpet, large TVs, a well-stocked (but paid) minibar, and a spacious bathroom. A generous selection of quality toiletries was provided. Again, the sleep quality stood out: the bed was very comfortable, and the pillow menu was a real benefit for me as a side sleeper.

The only real downside was the unreliable Wi-Fi.

There are grocery shopping options near the hotel, though not many appealing restaurants. We reached the Sierra Nevada quickly by car. For our visit to the Alhambra, we took a taxi, which cost about €10 to the Gate of Justice. We walked back from there. The city center is also about a 20-minute walk away—a pleasant stroll with plenty to see. We especially recommend exploring the charming side streets away from...

The hotel was nice however I would not class it as 4 star rather a 3 star, reception staff were wonderful, but we found the breakfast area to have a strange chaotic atmosphere, we had on over head music, plus a TV and a very annoying squeling toaster going on all at the same time, when the waitress came to clean away our plates we thanked her, and she didn't say a word to us, we were not welcomed with a good morning ect just a slight grunt when we entered the breakfast area, the one person who did speak was the actual chef if he hadn't have done we would have been completely ignored, the food for the breakfast however was very good and a large selection was available. The rooms are extremely poorly lit, sometimes resulting in my use of my mobile torch to see inside the wardrobe, the cleaners were not really up to scratch as when we entered the bathroom we found it covered with hairs. All in all not what I expected from a 4* hotel. The rooms were spacious and quiet however, and even though the hotel is quite a walk to where everything is happening we enjoyed staying a little out of the way of the hussle and bussle
