To begin; this location is excellent. Walking distance to many attractions, the metro, the City Bus tour. (Worth it.) The hotel is beautiful. The beds and pillows are very, very comfortable. Not a large closet, if you worry about that. Amazing water pressure and very hot. Turn the shower head to the wall and adjust the temperature before entering. Use the shower mat! Very slippery floor. Our room had a small terrace which was very nice. While it faced the back of several apartment buildings it was fine. The hotel is immaculate. There is a 4 o'clock tea time. Small sandwiches, pastry, coffee and you can meet other guests. The coffee machine is available 24/7. Check out the patio behind the dining room. The hotel staff is especially helpful. The Gran Via is rated 3 stars but is worthy of higher. We especially want to thank Karen in the food service area; and at the front desk, Marc, Lydia and Oskar. Have fun...
Read moreLovely ,clean , friendly central city hotel with spacious , quiet rooms.||Breakfast was assisted due to Corona but was very good and the service superb. ||Lots of bars and restaurants nearby. Calle Laurel is 15 mins walk and another 5 minutes brings you to the cathedral. ||We were on a Golf/wine tasting recce for a travel company and found that this hotel was in the centre for golf courses and wine tasting at the bodegas. ||The only gripe is the underground garage. Very tight and cramped and not for the feint hearted. €19 per night is a little on the high side. Free parking CAN be found 500m away but is this convenient?||I would stay here again...

My only complaint, which many in my group had too, the central air is control for the entire building. It was very warm in our rooms and staff could not help reduce the temperature because it was not room specific. Also, we overheard that the hotel turns off the AC during the early morning until 2PM to conserve energy. To me this is the hotel trying to save money at thier clients expense and experience.
Otherwise, it's a good location and will probably return on the next...
