The staff here make up for the improvements needed at the hotel as everyone we spoke too was so lovely and polite. The maids were always happy and the room was cleaned every day to a good standard, beds made, floor swept and mopped, bins emptied, fresh towels ect and done very fast too.||||The hotel has a few nice amenities like the hotel shop which is nicely priced, There is also a salon to get your hair done, a shop to book excursions such as jet skis, a library for you to choose a book to read, a large gym which is free to use, very big tennis and basketballs courts to use all day long, a lovely little mini golf course which could do with a little cleanup but the course had enough pots to keep you entertained.||There are also 3 pools one of which is a smaller heated children’s pool with a fair amount of sun loungers and umbrellas around, the grounds of the hotel are really beautiful to just walk around and see with a mini waterfall and turtles to see.||||However we really didn’t appreciate women sunbathing fully topless next to us at the pool surrounded by children? I can understand some beaches do this, but I personally don’t want to see another women’s bare boobs led down next to my parter on a sun lounger, while seeing children’s eyes peering at her. We had to leave the pool before dinner time because it made us feel uncomfortable I don’t think that it is appropriate for a hotel pool👍🏼||||We had no Wi-Fi at all while in the room for the first week, I did ask to be moved rooms on night one due to being so high up and having no Wi-Fi in the room but was told it was not doable and the Wi-Fi issue has been on going they are waiting for it to be fixed. It was fixed a week into our stay and was still temperamental for the rest of the stay.||The lady was lovely and offered me a space in the lobby which does connect to a different Wi-Fi than the rooms which was sweet, but we would of liked to be able to use wifi in the room to watch some tv on our phone seen as the hotel tv Chanel’s are very limited and locked in Spanish which we are not. ||||The balcony doors are awful, they don’t lock properly and constantly banging all night long if not left open slightly, which really ruined our first night as we both didn’t get any sleep due to the banging all night long. ||The views are Absolutely beautiful from the sea view rooms nothing like I’ve seen before so nice to wake up to that view it was breath taking.||||The hotel offers a breakfast buffet which we both enjoyed containing Fresh yogurt and fruit, pancakes, cakes and fresh bread, fresh made omelettes and fried eggs, your basic English breakfast options like bacon, beans, scrambled eggs ect fresh squeezed juice and coffee from the machine. ||We didn’t try the hotel dinner option which was £19.55. we did eat at the snack bar while we had a pool day and really enjoyed the food.||The snack menu had a nice variety such as chips, burgers, toasties, chicken strips, fresh fish, soups, pasta, salads and picky bits such as nuts and little deserts not too filling and prices are reasonable. ||||The hotel is currently going through a renovation and seems to have already had many improvements, however you will hear some drilling and banging at some points of the day and see the balcony’s getting repainted and improved. We barley noticed the renovation works and cannot hear them when at the pool or walking the grounds it didn’t affect our stay. ||||There is ALOT I mean miles of walking to be done each day if you want to find a nice spot to eat. We had a car for the whole stay and would have struggled so much getting about we still did over 20,000 steps a day with the car you don’t realise how much walking is to be done to find some tea! If you speak Spanish I’m sure you’ll find somewhere to eat very easily, as we are tourists we had to google maps...

I will start my opinion about the hotel with the positives. After all, there are definitely fewer of them compared to the number of negatives. I spent 10 nights in the hotel.
The hotel is in a good location. About 200 m from the hotel there is a large free parking lot (near the pitch), where you can leave your car without any problems. The parking lot is lit at night - it seems safe. The hotel tries to force a payment for parking the car in their own (internal parking lot) in the amount of €30/24h. The hotel does not have access to the beach, it has an outdoor swimming pool where animations take place. Loro park is 10 minutes from the hotel. There is a small shop inside the hotel where you can do grocery shopping or buy souvenirs. The appearance of the entire hotel suggests that its glory and cleanliness are long behind it. A lot of rust, stains on the seats and old dirt.
Room There are numerous stains on the carpet in the room. The beds were terribly uncomfortable - I chose the room without an ocean view, knowing that I wanted silence. I was forced to check in to a room overlooking the ocean, which was cold and the wind didn't really let me sleep. The air conditioning stank and its sound was like an old tractor starting up. Additionally, the windows were not airtight. The furniture in the room was dirty - stained. The fridge was making noise at night.
Bathroom In many places in the bathroom it was obvious that the bathtub was many years old. She was dirty. Ugly furniture covered with mold/green coating. There was silicone everywhere and one day I found two bugs crawling around the trash can and sink. Sanitary conditions were terrible.
Breakfast Everyday the same. One day I got food poisoning from breakfast and vomited all day long. Probably not fresh eggs. From my bed I called the front desk for help. What I heard surprised me - LACK OF RESPECT AND UNDERSTANDING. The employee informed me that she would not bring me a bottle of water or help me because it was my problem that I was barely alive and had no strength to get out of bed. Drama! Interestingly, on the day of departure I saw two more people vomiting in the lobby area. I wanted to skip breakfast but was told no.
The room was cleaned every day, i.e. towels were changed and garbage was taken away. So much.
Only German TV programs on the TV. The breakfast staff loves customers who tip extra in euros. They treated me like an enemy. I didn't do anything to them.
The hotel ruined my trip - it took me 3 days to recover from the poisoning. It had a huge impact on my psyche. I haven't eaten...
Read moreGreat Hotel and facilities. This is a large complex with several high rise hotel blocks. I would hazard a guess and say it was built in the 70-80s but the hotel is clean, modern and has nice decor with good bars and food. The rooms are big, terraced and have a fridge which was handy. The bathroom and sleeping area is also more than adequate and very comfortable. There was nothing in the mini bar but you could order in or buy your own. There was also no tea or coffee facilities or wifi in the rooms...I think the hotel could do with supplying the former but not the latter. This is I can understand as it is such a huge hotel...we were on the 11th floor.
There are several very large pools here (one was being painted on our stay) and also a very good gym. The down side with the gym was there was no water vender, sweat towel dispenser and only one running machine. I was very surprised with the latter as the gym is very large. Apart from that the gym is excellent. The food, standard buffet breakfast which was first class and the evening buffet (18E) with a free small beer was likewise. No complaints in the food department.
Anyway...I liked the hotel but some reviews have intimated that this hotel is anti British and that there are a lot of old Germans here. Well to this I will say that I loved the staff...to the barmaid who knowingly gave me a big smile every time she filled my glass with Baileys and the barman who bought me the smallest wine glass of beer when I asked for a 'small one' (see photos) and he found it totally amusing as did I. I thought all the staff we met were wonderful...very friendly and accommodating. As for the Germans...I love them, old or young, I thought they were charming.
All in all the hotel dropped a star because the gym deserved the little things that matter as stated and the rooms could really do with tea and coffee facilities...I would actually give 4.5 stars if I could. Well done though Mariitim...loved your place, the staff and the guests we met. I would definitely return...
Ohhh the balcony views are great...a rocky coastline with waves crashing in all over the place!
My visit:...
