Café Bar la Estrella — Restaurant in Puerto de la Cruz

An extremely dirty place. It’s scary to even imagine the conditions in which they prepare food if they serve customers with greasy, dirty utensils. Forks and spoons are filthy, and the tables are not cleaned.

Inside, flies are freely flying around and even get into the fridge where cakes and pastries are stored. Everything looks unsanitary and neglected.

The final straw was when my child wanted to take a piece of cake from the lower shelf. The saleswoman coughed into her hand and then, with the same hand, picked up the cake and put it into the box. No gloves, no basic hygiene.

This is a complete disregard for sanitary standards. If you want to get food poisoning or even something more serious — this is the place to go. How this establishment has not been shut down by the health inspection...

Didn’t expect anything from this place – we were too hungry to think :) But we were extremely surprised!! Burgers were very tasty! Even though by the looks they give vibes of cheap burgers that you can buy at the public swimming pool in Germany haha. But really I swear, that was one of the tastiest burgers i’ve tried! For sure better than at some hipster burger restaurants. We also took a club sandwich to go. Prices are very cheap, that’s unbelievable! The waitress was very nice and speaks English....

I've tried my first zaperoco here!!! My life has been changed!!!

The waitress was super polite, kind and patient with me learning about the said drink. It was made perfectly and I only drank zaperoco for the rest of my Tenerife trip.

I've shared a table once a German lady asked me to sit with me. We chatted for a bit and then parted our ways, but not before we told each other everything that is going on in our lives....
