So first time for me at this hotel for a couple of days in business trip in the financial district. Nice location, nice amenities. Rather good impression after check in. I was assigned a room at the last floor, quee size bed as requested in the reservation. I unpack my luggage, clothes, start to work on my laptop, etc... nothing to report. Until the time I go to the bathroom to use the toilet only to discover that the flush is not working i.e. toilets unusable. So call to the reception to explain the issue, the receptionist tells me she will send a technician, check. 5 min later (good reactivity of the receptionist) someone rings at my door and I find the receptionist whom I suspect hadn't understood what the issue was exactly. So I show her, she realizes what the issue is, apologizes and tells me that they will need to give me another room as this one is unusable with this issue (indeed). So she tells me to go back to the reception to be assigned a new room when I'm ready.
Ok so I put what I was doing on my laptop in standby, repack all my clothes and go down to the reception again. Bad luck now it's late afternoon and busy check in traffic so I wait with my bags a little while but I'm kindly offered a cup of champagne while I wait. My turn again, I'm given a new room, just next to the initial one, same floor (10th). Check. So back to elevators and 10th floor with all my bags. 10th floor. Keycard in my new room's lock. Red light. Try again after a little hold, same result. 2, 3, 4 times no the keycard doesn't work for that room.
Ok so back to floor 0 and the reception desk again with all my stuff (for the third time of the day in a couple of hours). I explain my problem, the receptionist reconfigure the keycard. Check.
Back to the elevator and 10th floor. The keycard works. Nice. I start to believe that l will finally be able to unpack and go to the toilets like I was planning to do half an hour ago ! But since my 6th sense titillates me, before unpacking I decide to test the toilets flush first. And guess what happens? Nothing. Just like my initial room, the flush is inop.
So I pick up the phone to inform the reception, and I head again down to floor 0 and the reception desk with all my luggage (for the 4th time of the day and 3rd time in less than an hour). This time I'm given a new room to the 9th floor but it is a twin bed room instead of the queen size bedroom booked. The receptionist apologizes for that and asks me if it is ok. All I want is to unpack my luggage, continue my work and go to the toilets so whatever yes I accept. Elevators again, up to 9th floor. The keycard works. Good start. Too bad once I open the door I discover a room that clearly smells cold tobacco. No doubt that the person before me or someone had multiple smokes at the window, I'm a non smoker and the tobacco smell was persistent and lasted 2 days despite my generous sprays of French perfume. Anyway. I test the flush. It works. I hesitate to call the reception again to explain that the room smells tobacco and that I can't stand it. But I look at the time and realize that it was more than 1h ago that I discovered that my initial room hadn't any operational toilets. I'm bored to make back and forth trips in the elevator from the reception desk to the last floor with all my stuff. I just want to unpack, settle down, go to the toilets, and continue what I was doing an hour ago. So I keep it for me and stayed in this room with nice tobacco smell for me and my clothes.
The receptionist apologized and was sorry for me (I don't blame her as it wasn't her fault and she was reactive) but my impression is so-so as down the line I ended up in a room smelling tobacco with smaller beds than booked and after having lost 1h going up and dow with my luggages. I did not receive any kind of compensation nor commercial gesture for the inconvenience at checkout. But I want to believe that it was just an unlucky day for me so will give it...
Read moreI had the honor to participate as guest to a medicine company to the EASD congres and I stayed at this hotel .When I arrive I was expected with champange and all sound good but after we saw the rooms we found a clean room but full of mold and with shrinkage walls,conditions that we never saw at a four stare hotel .But the things that we went trought the last day goes beyond every limits for any hotel in Europe no metter how many stars it has . We had given the keys of the room to the reception and we waited in the hotel hall on the sofa.The taxi had to come for letting us at the airport. 5 minutes have not passed yet and we noticed that our laptop bag was missing . In that laptop bag was were : laptop,keys of the car ,keys of the house ,money ,pictures,souvenirs and the most important over 5000 patients files (on the laptop ). We imediatly noticed the cameras and we requested the presence of the hotel manager for looking on the cameras .The manager refused this and he told us that only the police can look on the cameras.We called the police and in that moment the manager hotel became aggressive and violent .He physically assaulted,he took my neck and the tried to kick me out of the hotel .He told me that I can make a reclamation to the police but I have to live the hotel .We want to the national police and we made an reclamation .I am waiting with interess the results of the investigation .||ATTENTION when you choose this hotel .It is a shame that he takes down...
