Fantastic place to watch the Champions League final game (with Real Madrid), and the bouncers were amazing and incredibly helpful. When I got to the front of the line (which ended up becoming a massive line), I told them that my friends were running late, and when my friends showed up about 40 minutes later, I went outside and they let them in, instead of them having to wait in a long line, and potentially missing the action. Although the bouncers may not do this for everybody, it meant a lot to us because we were able to have an amazing experience. Amazing atmosphere, very packed, but we could get our drinks right away, so even if you did have to wait in the line, it was definitely worth it. The people there were very chill, and this is the perfect bar to go to for a game in Madrid. I usually don’t really leave reviews on Google, but the bouncers’ gestures really went a long way, especially for some stupid Americans like me and my friends. After the game, we walked to the Bernabeu and celebrated with all the fans, and we ended up following the crowd for the rest...
Read moreMy sister, daughter and I didn’t have a good experience here at all. First, we were sat at a table near the bar and our waitress never returned to take our order, give us water, utensils, nothing. We had to go to the bar to order a drink and return to the hostess stand to ask for someone to come take our food order. There was a nice gentleman who took our food order (I didn’t get his name but he had a beard).
Ordered the bacon cheeseburger with fries. My burger was unevenly cooked with most of it being undercooked, had no seasoning and the fries were cold. Prior to even receiving our food we were asked to pay the bill by someone who never even greeted us nor was our waiter. Midway through the meal we were asked again to pay in which we had to literally show them we had already done so.
I’m very disappointed in the service and the treatment by this staff. It’s hard not to feel the poor treatment was because we’re American or minorities or both but it’s disheartening...
Read moreSimply put, this is the best bar I’ve ever stepped foot in. Seriously lads, what a place. Not holding out much hope for the Rover after a few run ins with some other Irish bars the night before, I walked in and quickly learnt I was very, very much mistaken. I will never forget walking through the doors of The Rover, the atmosphere engulfing me immediately. The bottom floor was bustling but we realised there wasn’t sufficient space for our big group. No problem, what we were after was only a couple of stairwells away. The proximity of everything was sublime, bars, toilets, smoking area, screens, dance floors, chicas. I didn’t eat there but I guarantee the food would be 10/10. After a quick trip over to the Bernabeau for the second most impressive building of the day, we were back and we were not disappointed. The place was rocking and our pal, LD loved it so much he refused to leave.
