2 adults 4 kids.
Good location, with nice restaurants only a short walk in either direction. Great souvenir Shops and supermarket on-site as well as nearby all very competitive and well stocked. Bar prices are reasonable too. 'Entertainment' if you want it but we didn't bother to be honest. Staff are polite and grounds are maintained well, as are pool areas. Be careful as there are white vans sharing much of the narrow hilly pathways with you throughout the day as it's quite a big complex and they've opted for small diesel work vans to get about rather than the traditional golf kart style vehicles. The pools were extremely busy with very little room to swim at peak periods. I'd say they were quite close to full capacity some days. The pirate splash pool at the higher part of the complex is great and is for kids up to 12. At less busy parts of the day when there were very few people in and around the pools there seemed to be hundreds of reserved sunbeds which was a shame as it appears the "no reserving" rule isn't enforced particularly well, although it must be hard to be fair and ultimately it is selfish guests that are the route cause. Lifeguards were present at all times and seemed to be very good attending to kids who had hurt themselves etc.
We stayed in a 6 person self catering apartment which had a microwave and two ring electric hob as well as a pan and frying pan. Almost a full set of cutlery and plates etc. No toaster or kettle and no knife for cutting vegetables etc. No cooking utensils such as spatula. No information pack in the room about the hotel at all. We had two twin rooms and a double pull-out sofa bed in living area (which is probably the most uncomfortable thing I've ever slept on!). Balcony is very small and cannot seat anywhere near 6 and as such has 4 chairs and a table. Tv in the room that receives Disney channel for kids and audio can be switched to English in settings if needed which was handy at breakfast time. As mentioned on other reviews, the hot water tank is not sufficient for 6 showers so plan carefully or have as cool as you can or you WILL run out of hot water quickly and it's takes a long while to heat again.
Towels and toiletries replenished each day and bins emptied as well. I don't think a lot of actual cleaning happens though, or perhaps it is rushed due to workload, I'm not sure. The floor always felt slightly dirty under foot despite us sweeping ourselves at least once a day and we found previous guests items under beds etc along with lots of dust. We had the same sheets on the sofa bed for a full two weeks. Came in one afternoon whilst cleaner was still there and a bag full of rubbish from the bathroom was sitting on the kitchen counter which i handed to her and she apologised.
Overall I would recommend this place. I just think that the hotel management need to think about what a guest who has booked self catering would expect to find in their apartment. I've since read a review that says you have to leave a large deposit for kettle and toaster. Come on, how much does a kettle and toaster cost for goodness sakes, €5 each? Just equip the rooms properly and put a knife and spatula and perhaps a wooden spoon in the drawer!. You shouldn't have to ask for these items as they're standard at every other place I've stayed in Spain and elsewhere that's...
Read moreExcellent holiday for the kids and our self. We stayed here for a week mid July the weather was hot as what can be expected and we loved every minute. We spent most of our time in the pool there is 5 pools apparently but I only seen 4 but there was plenty of space for all. This is a very big hotel and plenty of space for all. Where can I start - plenty of sunbeds never once failed to find a sunbed or umbrella doesn't matter what time of day we arrived near the pool. We spent most of the time by the kids pool as we had little ones, plenty of slides and shallow for the youngsters with larger slides for slightly older I'd say suitable for children between new born - 12 with adult supervision. Up to 4 life guards at once on the pool at the busy times. There is a ice cream / drink hut at the kids pool wich is open for a few hours a day, I'd say they could be open slightly more but if that's there times that's there times. There is no alcohol served near the kids pool I believe the reason for this is they don't want you drunk when looking after youngsters but as anyone you do fancy a drink or two when your on the sun bed. The plus side to this it was kept very clean and no rubbish around at all. Down where the other pools where there is a bar hut there with a mixture of drinks and choice. Rooms we stayed near the front of the hotel, very close to the beach, access to shop / supermarket and restaurant. The room was clean, cleaners came in every day if you wanted them to we asked for every other as we didn't spend loads of time there. AC was very good even on speed 1 it was cold enough baring in mind it was 37°c outside one day. Full facilities for self catering if required we used them a few times but we where half board so didn't cook there only snacks and boil water for the babies bottles. Fridge/ freezer, cooker, plates and saucepans there. As there was 4 of us we had 2 single beds and a sofa bed, the sofa bed wasn't to comfortable but as can be expected. We had a shower and a bath with soaps etc provided. Plenty of towels for everone. Balcony enough room to sit out for all. We requested ground floor before we arrived via email as we had small children and we had what we requested. Food - I cant believe people complaining of not enough choice of food! The food was excellent loads and loads of choice. Breakfast open from 07.30 - 10.30 daily pancakes, cerial, bread up to 5 different types, can have a full english, all fruit, Yogurts, omelets cooked fresh and much more I cant remember. I think we had something different most days. There is lunch but as we where half board we never had this so cant comment. Supper - times 20.00 - 22.00 I will say it was slightly late for youngsters but we got use to it, I believe the Spanish just do everything a little bit later so we just got use to it. We have to remember your in a different country so get use to how they live. For our youngsters we just give a odd snack before supper time we managed I'm sure every one else can. There is a supermarket, shops, on site. Entertainment - we didn't see loads of this as it didn't start until 21.30 and the kids where in bed a little after that, yes it was in Spanish but please remember your in...
Read moreBest Pueblo indalo, Mojacar. I will say, it's lovely large, clean complex. Travelled with my daughter and 2yr old grandson on an all inclusive basis on 8th June 2023. We arrived at 23:30 on a full coach load. As we were near the back of the queue, we were offered to go to the dining room for a cold buffet prior to checking in. This was a thoughtful suggestion. We checked in with no issues and we're directed to our apartment. We were a little disappointed as the fridge was off, no water available and we were unable to operate the air conditioning. No instructions within the apartment. On checking the bedroom, there was no cot/bed for my 2yr old grandson. We found some bedding and made up the sofa bed and my daughter and her son slept on there with cushions on the floor in case he was to roll off. We requested a cot the following morning and one was supplied. The apartment style rooms are great but bear in mind no kettle is supplied. We were on the ground floor and unfortunately also struggled with ants coming into the bedroom through a gap in the window. On the second request we were given a tin of ant spray. The childrens club and disco was completely in Spanish which made it impossible for British children to participate in. Dining room - Great choice of food and fresh cooking available. Drinks needed to be ordered on sitting down, with limited choice and one order only. We often had to wait for a waiter to take our drinks order. Evening meal not open until 8pm which is way too late for the younger child. Bar - Good quality drinks, but often with long queues. The only bar open was the main one, on the ground floor, which was a little distance from the main pool. Looking at the menu on the bar there was no indication of what was included in the AI. Different waiters would advise differently on what they could serve you. There was no mention of what was available for children with regards to ice creams/ ice lollies. A information was aimed at the paying customer. All areas were kept clean and tidy. The splash park is excellent but unfortunately no access to any refreshments unless you walk down to the main ground floor bar. Both pool areas very slippy and would suggest that everyone wears foot wear to avoid falling. The pool also does not open until 11am....no airbeds etc are allowed either. We were unable to have a late checkout as our pick up was after 5pm, but the ahower room is clean and with towels and shower gel supplied. Lockers are also available. A time slot must be booked with reception. All in all it is a great hotel but unfortunately not for us and would not return. There are a lot of small things that could be improved on for the British traveller. This hotel is definitely aimed at the...
