Restaurante Piamonte — Restaurant in Mojácar

This restaurant is in a perfect location with beautiful decor. The menu is broad and offers plenty for everyone. Came here last year in august and the food was beautiful and service was ok but not amazing. Came again now in May the food was not great. The starters are incredibly overpriced and the drinks are cheap which is something they definitely need to reconsider. Ordered a baked provolone for starters and it was melted cheese with a tomato slice. Working in hospitality I would’ve expected some bread or something small with it as it’s supposed to be but it was just melted cheese in a hot bowl which was disappointing and not flavourful at all. On top of that it cost €12 for a bowl of cheese. Our starters took about 40-45 minutes. After the starters we were waiting another 40 minutes for mediocre food.

In fairness the pizza was delicious. The arrabbiata was nice but very oily and it was also very small if I didn’t have a starter this would’ve been a children’s dish. I saw the waitress bringing grated cheese to other tables with the plates but not us I had to ask. The cannelloni and carbonara was nice but had better from a pub..

The waiter that served us at the start was very attentive got our drink and food order in as soon as. We were under the impression we were off to a good start :( The waitress looked like she was constantly ran around the place however the place cleared out when we got our mains. I asked her for our bill and she seemed to be floating around the place. I went up to the bar to the original man that served us. I asked for our bill and he looked at me and walked away on the phone. After the waitress asked him she was embarrassed about him and walked away. He eventually abruptly put the card machine in front and me and just said the amount of our bill. No thank you how was your food/experience...

I recently had an awful experience at Piamonte, and I feel compelled to warn others. My partner and I went there expecting a decent breakfast, but we were sorely disappointed from the moment we walked in. After being seated, we were completely ignored for a solid 20 minutes—no menus, no drink orders, nothing. The service was beyond slow, and it seemed like the staff couldn't care less that we were there.

When we finally managed to order, we chose a full English breakfast, but that turned out to be a huge mistake. The food arrived cold, and the quality was appalling. The eggs were overcooked to the point of being rubbery, the bacon and sausages were clearly cheap and tasted awful, and the beans were watery and completely flavorless. To top it off, we ordered a frappe, which came out lumpy and undrinkable. When we politely sent it back, the staff responded with rudeness and attitude, as if it was our fault they couldn't make a simple drink.

We barely touched the food, paid the bill, and left as quickly as we could. If you're looking for bad service, cold food, and rude staff, then Piamonte is the place for you. Otherwise, save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else. This was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Avoid...

We went this evening as a family of four. We ordered one starter and 4 mains.They brought 3 mains and a starter at the same time good sized portions . A bit odd I thought but anyway we tucked in. Upon completion we waited half an hour and my main had not been brought so I assumed they forgot and asked for the bill. When the bill arrived my main was included. I pointed out that this has not been served and after such a long wait I wasn't that bothered now. A discussion ensued about serving starters and mains at the same time. Then suddenly my main arrived. I refused it staying the way they had served was wrong and the delay was not acceptable. After all my main was only a steak and only takes a few minutes to cook. They reluctantly refunded the steak and we're somewhat aggressive clearing the table virtually pushing us out. I think I had better not go back...
