I speak from experience when I say i could not recommend this restaurant to anyone and would never eat or drink here again.
My daughter received her meal and waited until the other meals arrived before starting to eat. 20 minutes later my grandson and I were still waiting. We called the waiter over to find out what was happening and he said he would find out. He did not return and i had to go up to the bar to enquire again. When asking where our meals were the staff laughed in my face saying my daughter's meal was for sharing! ?? It was chicken and chips!!! (They later admitted it had been a mix up) I would have to wait for mine, go and sit down! The food was burnt to a crisp no condiments, no sauces, no-one asked is everything alright. My daughter asked to speak to the manager on duty who was totally disinterested in our complaint. We asked for the bill expecting to see a deduction but they charged us full price and threatened to call the police if we didnt pay. We were all appalled and very upset, whilst the waiter appeared to think it was very funny and continued to laugh and smirk with his colleagues. The attitude was one of couldn't care less, not bothered. Pay up and go. We were all disgusted and quite frankly shocked . How does this place stay in business with dreadfull staff who have no idea of customer service. Thankfully there are many superb restaurants in Mojacar we visit and really enjoy. One extremely bad experience will not put us off eating out, but we will not return to Hola Ola. No stars from us. It is obvious they are not lovers of...
Read moreUsed this place a lot whilst we were in Mojacar. It is on the beach and not too far from our apartment. The menu is good and the Menu Del Dia is excellent. They often have live music and it can get get crowded if the right band is playing. This is primarily a Spanish Bar though you will find Brits in there they do prefer prefer other local bars.
Service can be a bit fickle but we have never had a problem. Staff have been friendly and courteous even though they may not speak much English.
There is an outdoor terrace where you can sit and watch the waves but this is where they smoke and everyone in Spain smoked. There’s a canvas covered area which is no smoking, and is warmer if there’s s breeze plus an indoor area with a wood burning fire if it gets cold. Free parking and here’s why we use it, free tapas. You simply order your tapas at the bar when you order your drinks! There is table service and as long as it’s not busy this is fine. Large groups beware most Spanish restaurants give you the bill- per table and you have to sort it out amongst yourselves before you pay which can get annoying. Try it, if you like Spanish food you will...
Read moreThe service was awful. Waitresses weren't nice, we didn't even finish making our order that she was gone! And then, when we called her back, it was as if we were annoying. They took forever to come see us to take our orders, they weren't nice one bit, we were bothersome clients just like all the others customers. seriously terrible!
Really, I've never seen a worse service. I am still waiting for the 'very nice waitress' that I read about in the other comments.
If you want lots of tapas, don't go there. There's not much, unlike what some comments say.
Finally, the ambiance was very nice with the live group and the dishes were alright. Because of the service though, not sure...
