La Trufa Negra — Hotel in Mora de Rubielos

We stayed in this hotel for 2 days, between 13-15/02. This hotel is located in a small mountain village, with picturesque medieval architecture scenery. It is roughly 30 minutes by car to Teruel and also roughly 30 minutes by car to the Valdelinares Ski resort. So the location is very good. According to the photos, the hotel rooms are modernised but we stayed in an apartment. The apartment is big enough for a small family with one or 2 children. We are only 2, so it is very comfortable for us. But the apartment needs refurbishment, especially the furniture, the decoration of the wall, the ceiling of the bathroom,etc.. In a word, the apartment made us think that it was an apartment for an old local couple, but not a hotel apartment for travellers. This hotel has a VERY GOOD restaurant, especially their black truff dinner menu, excellent! This hotel also sells black truff in very good price. Please trust us! We bought 2 black truffs ourselves.||||The last story: I forgot my watch under my pillow in the morning of check out on 15/02. I suddenly thought of it during our tour in Albarracin in the afternoon. I called the hotel and the watch was waiting for me in the hotel!! We went to fetch the watch only on 16/02 night on the way back to Alicante.||||Many thanks to the hotel, your honesty and your black truff. We will go to ski again next year and will stay in this hotel...

This hotel is in a very small Spanish village and is very modern. The room was enormous, modern and very clean. There were no coffee making facilities, but a fridge (empty). The shower was good, but, not so for my husband who is over 6' tall and couldn't not fit underneath it. The bath was enclosed so we didn't try it. The beds were wide but, as usual in Spain, rather firm. We had expected a balcony as per photos of the suite, but there was none. We also hoped to use the spa, but were very disappointed that even hotel guests have to pre-book and pay rather a lot of money to use a 30-60 minute slot. The staff were very nice (they do not speak English), but that is our problem, not theirs. If we are to revisit the village, we might go back again, but the price seems rather high for a Spa hotel when you have to pay extra for the spa and the parking. Also, we booked and paid for the hotel using Bookings.com, but the hotel asked us to pay again. In the end we didn't, but it was a little concerning...

I booked this hotel because my husband loves black truffle. The website suggests truffle hunting as an activity and I asked the hotel to arrange it for us. Unfortunately, apparently not enough people were signed up for it and therefore it was not possible. The hotel did keep us informed of the fact it may not go ahead but it was still a disappointment. There is maybe more opportunity in the winter?|The hotel itself is modern with good facilities. Secure underground parking (€10). The room & bathroom were clean & comfortable.
