Do not host your wedding / special event here! They do not have a functioning event management service at all. They overpromise and underdeliver. We had our wedding here in August 2023 and from the moment that we booked, there were problems.
We booked in October 2022 and were promised that there would be someone to assist with queries over winter / spring. This was a lie. Months went by with our emails unresponded to time and time again. I would not have chosen this venue for this reason alone!
We booked Jumeirah based on extensive experience with the group brand and the beauty of this hotel. This hotel is stunning but it is really poorly managed. It is not Jumeirah standards at all and not 5 star. The general manager is nowhere to be seen or to speak to despite numerous requests to speak with them over very serious complaints.
Our list of complaints is extensive so I will have to keep it brief:
In 8 months of planning they failed to inform us that we had to choose a menu option for our guests in advance prior to the wedding, after our invitations were already sent out. This resulted in chaos weeks before our wedding and them having to serve 2 main courses - something we did not want.
Despite stressing the life threatening nut allergy guest we had in attendance, they offered us a dish with nuts twice, one with pine nuts! After numerous reminders over email and in person. If left a sense that they did not take this allergy seriously and we had concerns for the day.
They threw out our wedding cake without telling us or anyone getting to taste it. Then told us €400 was discounted to us for cutting it. Laughable! Not only was it not cut, ALL guests saw it be taken away and it was never seen again.
Staff were found eating our ‘midnight snacks’ leaving guests without them and removed full drinks from tables. When told to bring the food back out to the hungry guests, they said that they were tired and working all day and starving. Jumeirah please sort out your HR issue. This food was paid for by us for our wedding guests!
We arrived to check in and they could not find the bride and grooms room! It took 25 minutes to check the bride and groom in with a lovely but very inexperienced receptionist. Why was the most junior checking in the bridal party?
They ‘lost’ 3 of our bridal parties room bookings. This caused a 5 hour checkin process on the Friday of our first wedding event. The stress and chaos of this day in inexcusable.
They could not deliver the correct eggs to the bride the morning of the wedding. She had no breakfast.
Room service delivered to the wrong room. 2 hours to deliver soup and a sandwich. 2 hours to deliver bags to the room making us late to our pre wedding event. Stressed.
Bridal party left without a room until 5pm to unpack and get ready.
The hotel lost my shampoo and conditioner and I was without this the morning of my wedding. They eventually finally ‘found’ it but it was too late. This might as well be medication - this is the only one I use and there is a reason why I use it. I asked the hotel to please sell me salon quality shampoo from the salon on-site but they were not able to do this for some bizarre reason.
Honestly, there is so much more. Worst of all, we still have to chase them for a follow up to our complaints. Emails unresponded to. They just don’t seem to either care or deem the complaints about our wedding important.
I didn’t want to post a review. It’s horrible complaining about your wedding but I’ve been left with no choice. It’s so important that brides and grooms are aware of who they are entrusting with their special day.
They feel that because they upgraded us to a suite, that that is enough ‘discount’ for our wedding. They had no choice but to upgrade us. They messed up the booking leaving us without 3 rooms. We all needed somewhere to sleep? We didn’t book that room so a ‘discount’ on it is of zero value to us. Jumeirah caused us serious stress and we lost so much precious time sorting out their messes over our special weekend. So very...
Read moreA review worth noting if you're looking for a luxurious and indulgent experience! From the very start, one is welcomed by friendly staff who make the check-in an enjoyable process, informing you of the hotel's facilities. The staff not only are informative about the hotel providing you with a map and all the details necessary for you to make the most of your stay but also can highlight local events or places of interest. The rooms themselves are spacious, well decorated and perfectly balanced with good quality amenities that make one's ones stay more pleasant rather than having to bring along all annoying little things. One of my favourite features is not only the breakfast buffet but the staff who ensure that your every need is met oddly enough almost preempting your wishes before you verbalise them. To me, a wonderful aspect is how they are able to remember your name and address you personally while keeping a respectful and professional stance making you feel that you are home away from home. Both the swimming pools are clean and well-staffed again making it a breeze to order any beverage and they have a wide array of choices on their menu for nibbles to meet most diets (being an ex-vegan I always look at what is on offer should I look to having a plant-based snack or meal). What I also enjoyed was their willingness to adapt and flex to adjust any option as my counterpart has a stricter special diet than my own. The spa was out of this world. I loved the layout and variety of rooms and overall ambience but mostly the staff were able to accommodate me with a massage (and suitable bed) for my pregnancy belly - ensuring that I had the most deeply relaxing experience that stemmed from their professional expertise and demeanour. The views whilst having lunch at the Cap Roig were breathtakingly spectacular, and the cuisine matched my expectations (which the following breakfast) were undoubtedly high and the chef did not disappoint! From the very start, the fresh warm bread and locally sourced olive oil were a precursor of what was to come, a delicious sophisticated culinary affair. (I believe that the next day I cut back on the bread only because I knew of the exquisite dishes that would follow and wanted to enjoy them to the full). One particular highlight was catching the remarkable sunset whilst enjoying beverages and a finesse dinner at the Sunset Lounge. The colourful sky, the warmth, the vibrant music, interesting offer of cocktails and mock cocktails alike paired with a Japanese-Peruvian fusion menu (sounds a tad odd but believe me you will thank me later as every mouthful is heavenly) made this an evening to bookmark and remember... I wanted to return here the following evening but curiosity pushed me towards the hotel's last restaurant Es Fanals. This restaurant which is set high above the cliff top overlooking the sea also has a spectacular breathtaking panoramic sunset view. Again I am forever thankful that I indulged in their set menu dinner, where we both chose different menus, one caring and diligently adapted and both were a truly delectable and succulent affair and again paired with a perfectly romantic atmosphere. I only wish that I had more days and nights to spend at this resort as I had planned on exploring the local area and yet was so delighted with the hotel's overall experience that I didn't step outside of its magical domain. Overall it is well worth visiting and I would recommend a stay for a minimum of two nights and three days to be able to fully immerse into the sophistication of the Jumeirah Port Soller "stay different" atmosphere which delivers 110%. Five stars are not enough and only wish I could be back sooner than next year! Definitely see you again...
Read morePerfect stay. This hotel excels at adding just that extra luxurious touch to make your stay blissful and completely relaxing. Flawless experience and team! ||Architecturally the Jumeirah Mallorca is very unique and enhances the island’s gorgeous nature into your experience — this was my favorite aspect of the hotel. The weather in Mallorca in October was lovely and skin-temp. ||Room: absolutely luxurious bed with 6 pillows and automated blackout curtains with sliding floor-to-ceiling windows to open the rooms completely to the patio and fresh air. I especially loved the overstuffed, oversized, comfy patio lounger... such a surprise luxury touch designed for naps and reading or working on the large private terrace. Perfect, clean, super responsive heating cooling system — it felt like it filtered the room air in such clean way that I really enjoyed but hardly needed to use. ||Bathroom: I think this Jumeirah has the best rain shower I’ve experienced out of any hotel. Opulent marble bathroom that felt like a personal spa with fantastic full size Natura Bisse products. Bidet, intuitive and natural lighting schema, and peekaboo blinds from the shower to bed. ||Breakfast: top tier breakfast, not to be missed. This is now one of my favorite breakfasts worldwide, hard to beat both the amazing food and amazing setting in combination. Stunning views overlooking an ocean panorama with a delicious array of artisanal hot and cold items to choose from, as well as a menu with eggs benedict, avo toast, and churros. I loved the fresh juices, including green juice and kombucha, and the berry bar. Huge pastry bar with amazing treats, local cheeses and jamon, amazing salad ingredients, house-made caramelized nut granola, homemade cookies, and truly fantastic cappuccinos. The hot bar was great with crispy bacon, shakshuka eggs, and English breakfast. ||Gym: fantastic pilates and yoga classes. Beautiful view from the treadmills featuring grapes hanging from the vines and butterflies overlooking the valley. New equipment, everything was perfectly clean and stocked with cold towels and fruit infused water. Open 24h; the gym was the main reason for my booking, and I was delighted!||Spa & Pools: gorgeous views from the sauna and outdoor panorama spa pool with all kinds of fountains and bubble massage chairs. The infinity pool is also saltwater and gorgeous, perfect for reading or sunset bites. The kids pool had amazing seating and reading lounges. 3 different pools to choose from, all mildly warm and overlooking the ocean and beaches. The spa also offers homemade ginger tea and honey that was simply delicious. ||Service: from check-in, to coordinating communication via WhatsApp, to housekeeping and turn-down service, everything was flawless.
