This was our 3rd visit to this restaurant, the previous 2 being amazing and making it our go to location for our first night. While the sunset didn’t fail to impress the restaurant and manger failed on all levels
We waited over an hour to be allowed to order which when you have children (confirmed on reservation) and an 8pm table isn’t great and was a clear warning sign
When the the starters arrived they were bland and portions were tiny
On ordering a medium steak the first arrived and was rare, waited 10 minutes to get attention to address the issue. The second having waited 15 minutes for it to arrive was even more rare
I went inside to discuss with the manager who felt that an expensive brandy would resolve the concerns and I should wait for the 3rd attempt. Explained this wasn’t acceptable as we have 2 young children and it was now 10 pm. Asked that the bill be delivered
Manager arrived with the bill, proudly explaining that the steak had been removed from the bill. On explaining of course I would not be paying for a steak I didn’t eat and I was disappointed he hadn’t amended the bill further considering the issues, the manger just wanted to argue. He insisted that that chef had tested the steak(s) to ensure that it was 50 degrees before delivery and that this was the correct temperature for a medium steak. A quick google tells you that it should be between 60-70 degrees and that even a rare steak should be 50. My wife had to point out that the meal was bad enough did he also have to end our evening by standing over us arguing about it.
Overall a very disappointing experience and we won’t return. Worst still our first night of holiday ruined but not only by the bad food but the managers attitude and the want to argue in front of our children
Good luck if you...
Read moreHorrific experience while celebrating a one year old birthday. What an embarrassment to have such hateful & mean waitstaff. Where are the high quality standards you are providing for the upscale pricing? We had a very unpleasant waitress, who told us that what we ordered was not enough. Our family is vegetarian and there was just not enough options. As we were trying to order dessert, she told us that “next time we come, we should order dinner as this is a restaurant...but this time was ok, we can stay”. I have never been talked like that by anyone, especially in such a nice looking restaurant. Nonetheless we decided to leave this restaurant and whilst paying for our water at the bar, I explained what happened. She ran back inside yelling at me, trying to get her last word in. I am mortified on how we were treated in front of everyone who dined there and worked there. It is an unacceptable behavior & experience. Beware of the blond waitress. You can not call this place upscale, if you’re waitress yells at the customers and schooling them on what to order to eat. We also had people sitting next to us who were talked back to in a very rude way. Dear owners, I would figure out what is wrong with your waitress’s behavior before she ruins your reputation and business, and most importantly your customers special occasions. We had a baby with us for God sake, have some respect...We will not return there ever again.
Update: after I contacted owners for an explanation, he defended their waitstaff and confirmed they did nothing wrong! Also I was threatened and was told next time they make us leave for not ordering enough to make turn...
Read moreWell let’s start with the positive elements.
The location is stunning with incredible views, just mesmerising to watch the sun go down from here.
However there are many other locations to watch the sun go down, that offer, let’s say they offer more, well to be frank more food.
The food was good in my opinion, well presented, however after finishing my 3 course meal I was still very hungry. Just to underline how small the portions are here, I normally only order one course at restaurant.
Let’s get to service, firstly this place needs a qualified sommelier, some who can train and help others. When I ordered wine, our server opened the bottle of red wine and left it in direct sunlight. I asked for an ice bucket. Our server returned with the supervisor with a wine cooler instead. The supervisor then explained that the wine needed to remain out of the sunlight to remain cool. I said that why I asked for a wine bucket. Classic.
After this we were left to the pour the wine on our own, a couple of times during our meal we were poured wine randomly by different servers.
Just not to leave the size thing, sorry can’t let it go, desert was 3 small strawberries on a massive plate but beautiful plate for circa €14, part of the 3 course €43 menu.
In summary, great location, with good food albeit in extremely, extremely, extremely small portions and average service.
I shared my review a couple of days ago directly with the restaurant just to be completely transparent…no one...
