I previously left a three star review after a good stay, made less good by a problem we had with our room during that stay that could not be resolved at the time. We decided to return to Bikini Island and on emailing the team, the operations manager Anja kindly responded and took our feedback on board. We were booked into another bay view plus room (we were previously in room 421 during our last stay that suffered form noise at night form reception/toilets/lift shaft/stairs/restaurant). This time, room 326 was peaceful and as we have ended our stay feeling much more rested than before. With this in mind, and with the management's willingness to listen to feedback, I've update my review to 5 stars as the rest of the experience remained excellent. The hotel is positioned in a beautiful area and the rooms that look over the port have a stunning view. The staff are friendly and speak Spanish, German and English. They may speak other languages but I think they are the main ones. The rooms are well presented and have good air conditioning. They have a fridge, plenty of clothes storage and - my god - have excellent (but slippery) showers. The products they provide for washing are of high quality. You are provided with a water bottle for your stay that you fill at a couple of water stations throughout the hotel - chilled water, unchilled water, fuzzy water. The bar has a good selection for alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. It also has a good choice of meat and vegetarian options. I think there are a couple of vegan options too. The on site restaurant has excellent reviews but is fully booked during the medium to high season if you try to arrange a table on the day. If you go to the restaurant and say you are a guest at the hotel/in house, they do have some tables set aside for this but you do need to arrange this sooner rather than later at the weekend or you have to eat at either 6.30pm or 9.30pm. The food there is wonderful. Just watch they don't charge you for the free water. Breakfast is great too. There are two exercise areas with a mix of machines outside including rowing erg, trx, free weights. There are daily yoga classes for free although these are quickly booked up. The hotel has free 4h bike rental - mountain bikes and ebikes. You will also find a steam room and sauna that is free to use with views over the bay. This is near one of the gym areas and the spa.

We really wanted to like this hotel - the location is stunning, the breakfast was generous and the view from the pool is undeniably beautiful. However, our experience was unfortunately marred by a number of issues that made the stay feel frustrating and far from the standard this hotel claims to offer. Our original room offered zero privacy, with a window and balcony directly overlooking the car park and main entrance. To their credit, the staff did move us but to a smaller room. While it was more private, it didn’t make up for the serious lack of comfort. The beds were rock hard and oddly shaped, with a raised mound in the middle. The pillows were terrible and unsupportive. We had to ask for extra pillows and a mattress topper just to get a half-decent night’s sleep. The service throughout the hotel felt flat and uninterested. Staff didn’t make us feel welcome and offered no help with local recommendations or dining tips. When we asked about a paella restaurant we’d researched, the receptionist claimed not to know it and redirected us elsewhere — to a disappointing alternative with poor-quality food. The pool area, while stylish, was let down by slow service and an overpriced lunch menu featuring mainly Israeli-style dishes - curious considering we are in Spain. The pool bar prices were over the top and the food options felt both limited and off-brand for the location. One final (and important) note: the hotel provides guests with a refillable water bottle and filtered water stations, but the water tastes off — salty and stale. We ended up buying our own water from a nearby shop, which says a lot. In summary, this hotel looks great on social media, but the reality doesn’t live up to the hype. For the price, guests deserve better comfort, hospitality and value. Sadly, we wouldn’t stay again or recommend it.

What I loved: All staff were lovely and helpful providing a good service. The lobby, restaurant, bar area balcony, pool area all had a major 'wow' factor and very stylish with a bric-a-brac of hippy chic and world travel decor, books and wicker furniture. Ebikes for free to rent (4 hours) was a nice extra (bookable at reception). Parking off street behind hotel was easy. An easy walk down to the town's marina area. Balcony view from the room was great. Room had some nice touches with extra facilities. Nemi restaurant was ok with great views of the town. Booking on first night was not impossible but second night had more availability and they even allowed earlier entry. Always best to keep asking. Food was good though one small plate came out luke warm. Staff very attentive. What I didn't like: Despite the amazing Instagrammable decor the hotel is a refit based on an old design so the walls were thin therefore noisy and rooms quite small. The main complaint is that the bed was too hard for comfort and pillows uncomfortable. The receptionist/manageress was lovely to provide extra duvets under bed sheets but a good memory foam topper would be a wise investment for the hotel. Some of the room decor and design made things worse e.g. the bathroom lights covered with a shell drape made it too dark. Room 423 where I stayed was located very near the reception and had toilets on same corridor. These served the bar open to the public and meant a lot of noise at night. There was a door to separate the rooms in the corridor but people kept leaving it open. Every morning the cleaners would leave their trolleys right outside room entrance and constantly talking loud too. Breakfast buffet was ok but suited a German taste - not enough cereal for my liking. Overall, very much style over substance.

Bikini Island Hotel Review (Stayed Sept 22–29, 2025)

I am a hospitality professional and travel the world frequently for both work and leisure multiple times per month. I understand what to expect from hotels across different price ranges, and I can confidently say this was one of the most disappointing experiences I’ve ever had. We paid for a “better” room which was absolute waste.

Cons

Fitness Facilities: The gym is a disaster. Equipment is old, broken, and left exposed on the rooftop. No treadmill available. I’ve stayed at budget hotels with gyms 10x nicer. Yoga & Spa: Yoga classes book up days in advance, and spa/sauna must be reserved, meaning you can’t enjoy facilities spontaneously. Crowded & Chaotic: The hotel is constantly packed, with non-guests from the restaurant flooding the lobby and hallways every night. Reception is always full, and it takes forever to speak to someone. Rooms: Incredibly small with no storage or drawers. Cabinets above the bed require stepping on the bed to access (unsanitary). I had nowhere to unpack clothes for a month-long trip. Even hangers were useless—bamboo-shaped and unable to hold dresses or tops. I had to repeatedly request more. Noise: Zero soundproofing. You hear every cough, sneeze, and footstep—even on the top floor. Constant banging and noise, plus being near reception and bathrooms meant pushing through crowds daily. Staff & Service: Staff acted like guests were a bother, not a priority. The WhatsApp “support” is just a useless AI bot. Despite reaching out multiple times about issues, the hotel was not accommodating. On the very last day, they offered to let us move rooms, but since we were leaving at 3:00 am the next morning, it was far too late to matter. Food & Drink: Pool menu is limited and uninspired (mostly basic American options). Breakfast is good but overcrowded, items constantly run out, and cups are tiny—2oz max, requiring endless refills. Navigating the buffet feels like an obstacle course. Parking: Nightmare. With non-guests dining at the hotel, parking fills up. After 5 pm, it’s nearly impossible to find a spot nearby. Other Issues: One guest in our wedding group arrived to find no room, despite booking direct. Limited housekeeping/towel service due to drought. Management refused to adjust or cancel my stay when I reached out. Location is on a cliff, requiring a constant trek of stairs to reach the port—frustrating when the hotel itself is uncomfortable. At $3,000+ for 7 nights, the value was shockingly poor compared to nearby hotels where friends stayed. Donkey bar was barely opened. The hotel offers electric bikes but as someone who owns an electric bike, the streets are extremely dangerous to bike around the cliffs and hills near the hotel.

Pros Laundry service was quick, efficient, and reasonably priced (€15). Full-sized hairdryer that worked well. Overall Outdoor seating area with couch was roomy and where I felt most comfortable since the room and hotel were anxiety inducing. This hotel causes me to have major anxiety which I don’t usually encounter but felt overwhelmed by how cluttered and busy everything was.

This hotel tries to market itself as trendy and upscale but fails across almost every aspect of hospitality. The lack of service, comfort, and functionality turned what should have been a relaxing trip into a stressful experience. I am so upset that I stayed here, and I deeply regret booking it. Hopefully this review saves someone else from wasting their time and money the way I did. Mallorca is beautiful and welcoming, but Bikini Island left me feeling unwelcome and uncomfortable. Save yourself the disappointment—there are far better hotels...

Have stayed in many hotels over the years, even lived in one for more than 12 months. This is probably the least impressive I have experienced in any price range. It is a designer hotel for sure, but the rooms and layouts in general are rather dismal for all practical purposes.

The restaurant is the floor above guest rooms and guest balconies. At the rates they charge pre-season for suites and double rooms it is all quite hard to understand. 7 am to 11 pm traffic around your room? People’s conversations, in-room activities, coming’s and going’s, and general hotel maintenance and operations. Highly recommend anyone to look at the hotels right up the street which at higher prices are better value. We’ve already booked our next trip there as the area is spectacular.

If you plan to spend any time in your room, accept a higher price up the street. If you plan to spend most of your time out of the room, pick a more reasonable hotel elsewhere in Port de Soller.

Food is average, arrival and check-in was messed up, and the hotel quality is rather disappointing.

Employees in restaurants, pool area, and house-keeping are pleasant, nice, and helpful!

Management is a bit off with guests’ needs and pricing.

I would recommend you use this hotel for a short stay like a long weekend, or pick somewhere else for a longer vacation. Edit after «Your Bikini-Team» responded.

We contacted the hotel before arrival for a quiet room.

15 Mbs wifi is not super-sonic but fine for a video conference without too many on video and presentation sharing. So that worked ok.

I think there is a confusion between what we requested and what the hotel offers. So that is fine, our bad.

The rest of the response I will just refer back to “Management is a bit off with guests’ needs and pricing.” I think the response from the hotel is enough to confirm.

Repeating the hotel offering is not the same as taking care of guests needs.

Let’s say you contact the hotel and ask for a quiet room only to receive one below the restaurant. Nothing to do with the list of offered services.

Let’s say you order Hummus, Corn, Risotto, and Butterfly fish. You are told it is ready for collection in the restaurant in 10 minutes. Then when you arrive it is another 10 minutes. Then when you receive it later you find there is no Corn (as the restaurant is out) and no bread with the Hummus. None of the staff that helped us when visiting the restaurant 3 times to collect the food were mean or bad. It is simply poor management. Someone could have told us that they were out of corn and it would take 25 minutes, and that some of the dishes would be cold. Again, poor management. Like I said, the employees are nice, management is lacking, and none of my feedback has to do with extra amenities vs what I expect from a hotel in this price range. You can have as many pool bars and yoga classes as you want, but if you can not provide a room as agreed upon or serve a meal as promised, we are discussing two different topics :)

I hope this helps and that you get the basics in order so many guests can enjoy the hotel they thought they were visiting.

Best wishes to the Bikini-Team. The potential is there, management needs to...

My stay at Bikini Island & Mountain Hotel in Port de Sóller fell well short of expectations in terms of service, professionalism, and basic hospitality standards.

Upon arrival, no one came to greet me or offer assistance with my luggage. I entered the hotel dragging two large suitcases, a carry-on, and a handbag, with no acknowledgment or support from any staff. Throughout my stay, interactions with staff were cold and unwelcoming, with the exception of one kind team member I encountered on my final night & the male receptionist as I was checking out.

When I entered my room, I found water on the floor, which was left by housekeeping. The room itself was extremely small, with very limited space to move around or store belongings.

On the first day, I placed the “Do Not Disturb” sign on the door and left my room, where my passport, cash, and jewelry were left out. When I returned, I found two pool towels placed on the bed. When I raised the issue with the front desk, I was told that if housekeeping is rushed or unable to finish cleaning in one visit, they might return later—even if the Do Not Disturb sign is up. Entering a room under these conditions is a clear breach of privacy and safety.

On the second day, I placed a shirt on top of the pillows before leaving. When I came back, it was missing. I reported it to the front desk, who assured me that nothing had been touched and asked me to search again. I did—thoroughly. The manager said he would check with housekeeping and call me by 10 a.m. the next day. No one contacted me. I followed up at 1 p.m., and was told again that nothing had been found. When I expressed concern, the manager responded by asking if I was accusing housekeeping of theft—something I had never said. I found the comment inappropriate and dismissive. Later that day when I was at the pool, I saw the manager and a housekeeping staff member in my room. Less than an hour later, I received an email saying the shirt had been found under the pillow I had slept on—despite the fact I had already searched there and had clearly left the shirt on top of the pillows. No further explanation was provided.

Additional issues:

The hotel does not offer room service, and all food must be ordered through the on-site restaurant, which is Israeli-owned. I do not support this, and I believe it’s important for guests to be informed in advance.

Pool bar food service was slow. It took 30 minutes to arrive.

The pool area, while well-designed, becomes overcrowded early in the day. Guests reserve loungers for hours, making it difficult to find a spot unless you arrive very early.

The reception does not take restaurant reservations, even though the restaurant is less than 30 steps away. Guests are required to physically go to the restaurant’s entrance to make a booking, which is inconvenient and unnecessary.

Overall, this hotel appears more focused on aesthetic presentation than guest experience. There was a consistent lack of communication, hospitality, and accountability.

For the price and branding, I expected a far higher standard. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone nor do I plan to return the next time I come...
