Bikini Island Hotel Review (Stayed Sept 22–29, 2025)
I am a hospitality professional and travel the world frequently for both work and leisure multiple times per month. I understand what to expect from hotels across different price ranges, and I can confidently say this was one of the most disappointing experiences I’ve ever had. We paid for a “better” room which was absolute waste.
Cons
Fitness Facilities: The gym is a disaster. Equipment is old, broken, and left exposed on the rooftop. No treadmill available. I’ve stayed at budget hotels with gyms 10x nicer. Yoga & Spa: Yoga classes book up days in advance, and spa/sauna must be reserved, meaning you can’t enjoy facilities spontaneously. Crowded & Chaotic: The hotel is constantly packed, with non-guests from the restaurant flooding the lobby and hallways every night. Reception is always full, and it takes forever to speak to someone. Rooms: Incredibly small with no storage or drawers. Cabinets above the bed require stepping on the bed to access (unsanitary). I had nowhere to unpack clothes for a month-long trip. Even hangers were useless—bamboo-shaped and unable to hold dresses or tops. I had to repeatedly request more. Noise: Zero soundproofing. You hear every cough, sneeze, and footstep—even on the top floor. Constant banging and noise, plus being near reception and bathrooms meant pushing through crowds daily. Staff & Service: Staff acted like guests were a bother, not a priority. The WhatsApp “support” is just a useless AI bot. Despite reaching out multiple times about issues, the hotel was not accommodating. On the very last day, they offered to let us move rooms, but since we were leaving at 3:00 am the next morning, it was far too late to matter. Food & Drink: Pool menu is limited and uninspired (mostly basic American options). Breakfast is good but overcrowded, items constantly run out, and cups are tiny—2oz max, requiring endless refills. Navigating the buffet feels like an obstacle course. Parking: Nightmare. With non-guests dining at the hotel, parking fills up. After 5 pm, it’s nearly impossible to find a spot nearby. Other Issues: One guest in our wedding group arrived to find no room, despite booking direct. Limited housekeeping/towel service due to drought. Management refused to adjust or cancel my stay when I reached out. Location is on a cliff, requiring a constant trek of stairs to reach the port—frustrating when the hotel itself is uncomfortable. At $3,000+ for 7 nights, the value was shockingly poor compared to nearby hotels where friends stayed. Donkey bar was barely opened. The hotel offers electric bikes but as someone who owns an electric bike, the streets are extremely dangerous to bike around the cliffs and hills near the hotel.
Pros Laundry service was quick, efficient, and reasonably priced (€15). Full-sized hairdryer that worked well. Overall Outdoor seating area with couch was roomy and where I felt most comfortable since the room and hotel were anxiety inducing. This hotel causes me to have major anxiety which I don’t usually encounter but felt overwhelmed by how cluttered and busy everything was.
This hotel tries to market itself as trendy and upscale but fails across almost every aspect of hospitality. The lack of service, comfort, and functionality turned what should have been a relaxing trip into a stressful experience. I am so upset that I stayed here, and I deeply regret booking it. Hopefully this review saves someone else from wasting their time and money the way I did. Mallorca is beautiful and welcoming, but Bikini Island left me feeling unwelcome and uncomfortable. Save yourself the disappointment—there are far better hotels...
Read moreHave stayed in many hotels over the years, even lived in one for more than 12 months. This is probably the least impressive I have experienced in any price range. It is a designer hotel for sure, but the rooms and layouts in general are rather dismal for all practical purposes.
The restaurant is the floor above guest rooms and guest balconies. At the rates they charge pre-season for suites and double rooms it is all quite hard to understand. 7 am to 11 pm traffic around your room? People’s conversations, in-room activities, coming’s and going’s, and general hotel maintenance and operations. Highly recommend anyone to look at the hotels right up the street which at higher prices are better value. We’ve already booked our next trip there as the area is spectacular.
If you plan to spend any time in your room, accept a higher price up the street. If you plan to spend most of your time out of the room, pick a more reasonable hotel elsewhere in Port de Soller.
Food is average, arrival and check-in was messed up, and the hotel quality is rather disappointing.
Employees in restaurants, pool area, and house-keeping are pleasant, nice, and helpful!
Management is a bit off with guests’ needs and pricing.
I would recommend you use this hotel for a short stay like a long weekend, or pick somewhere else for a longer vacation. Edit after «Your Bikini-Team» responded.
We contacted the hotel before arrival for a quiet room.
15 Mbs wifi is not super-sonic but fine for a video conference without too many on video and presentation sharing. So that worked ok.
I think there is a confusion between what we requested and what the hotel offers. So that is fine, our bad.
The rest of the response I will just refer back to “Management is a bit off with guests’ needs and pricing.” I think the response from the hotel is enough to confirm.
Repeating the hotel offering is not the same as taking care of guests needs.
Let’s say you contact the hotel and ask for a quiet room only to receive one below the restaurant. Nothing to do with the list of offered services.
Let’s say you order Hummus, Corn, Risotto, and Butterfly fish. You are told it is ready for collection in the restaurant in 10 minutes. Then when you arrive it is another 10 minutes. Then when you receive it later you find there is no Corn (as the restaurant is out) and no bread with the Hummus. None of the staff that helped us when visiting the restaurant 3 times to collect the food were mean or bad. It is simply poor management. Someone could have told us that they were out of corn and it would take 25 minutes, and that some of the dishes would be cold. Again, poor management. Like I said, the employees are nice, management is lacking, and none of my feedback has to do with extra amenities vs what I expect from a hotel in this price range. You can have as many pool bars and yoga classes as you want, but if you can not provide a room as agreed upon or serve a meal as promised, we are discussing two different topics :)
I hope this helps and that you get the basics in order so many guests can enjoy the hotel they thought they were visiting.
Best wishes to the Bikini-Team. The potential is there, management needs to...
Read moreMy stay at Bikini Island & Mountain Hotel in Port de Sóller fell well short of expectations in terms of service, professionalism, and basic hospitality standards.
Upon arrival, no one came to greet me or offer assistance with my luggage. I entered the hotel dragging two large suitcases, a carry-on, and a handbag, with no acknowledgment or support from any staff. Throughout my stay, interactions with staff were cold and unwelcoming, with the exception of one kind team member I encountered on my final night & the male receptionist as I was checking out.
When I entered my room, I found water on the floor, which was left by housekeeping. The room itself was extremely small, with very limited space to move around or store belongings.
On the first day, I placed the “Do Not Disturb” sign on the door and left my room, where my passport, cash, and jewelry were left out. When I returned, I found two pool towels placed on the bed. When I raised the issue with the front desk, I was told that if housekeeping is rushed or unable to finish cleaning in one visit, they might return later—even if the Do Not Disturb sign is up. Entering a room under these conditions is a clear breach of privacy and safety.
On the second day, I placed a shirt on top of the pillows before leaving. When I came back, it was missing. I reported it to the front desk, who assured me that nothing had been touched and asked me to search again. I did—thoroughly. The manager said he would check with housekeeping and call me by 10 a.m. the next day. No one contacted me. I followed up at 1 p.m., and was told again that nothing had been found. When I expressed concern, the manager responded by asking if I was accusing housekeeping of theft—something I had never said. I found the comment inappropriate and dismissive. Later that day when I was at the pool, I saw the manager and a housekeeping staff member in my room. Less than an hour later, I received an email saying the shirt had been found under the pillow I had slept on—despite the fact I had already searched there and had clearly left the shirt on top of the pillows. No further explanation was provided.
Additional issues:
The hotel does not offer room service, and all food must be ordered through the on-site restaurant, which is Israeli-owned. I do not support this, and I believe it’s important for guests to be informed in advance.
Pool bar food service was slow. It took 30 minutes to arrive.
The pool area, while well-designed, becomes overcrowded early in the day. Guests reserve loungers for hours, making it difficult to find a spot unless you arrive very early.
The reception does not take restaurant reservations, even though the restaurant is less than 30 steps away. Guests are required to physically go to the restaurant’s entrance to make a booking, which is inconvenient and unnecessary.
Overall, this hotel appears more focused on aesthetic presentation than guest experience. There was a consistent lack of communication, hospitality, and accountability.
For the price and branding, I expected a far higher standard. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone nor do I plan to return the next time I come...
