We had a nice room in the fourth floor (room C418). The balcony which is located conveniently about 2 metres away from the bed had a large field of view, as it was a panoramic terrace - on which there were two chairs and one round glass table. And on the terrace there was a nice refreshing breeze, which may be annoying if you are a smoker, but not otherwise.
The room itself had two beds which are conjoined, forming one large double bed, or can be separated by the use of the wheels that are under it, they have locks obviously, but you could just unlock it and move it around as you please.
Right in front of the bed - hanging on the wall - there was a new/modern standard sized LG TV, on which there was a large range of channels. Specifically there were 81 channels accessible (including radio channels that is). Of the aforementioned channels there were Swedish channels, Norwegian channels, English channels, American channels, German channels, Danish channels, etc. Overall a very broad selection.
To the left of the bed there was a niche kitchen - complete with a oven, induction heating stove, coffeemaker with an included filter, a standard fridge with a freezer below, stone countertop, small coffee cups for espresso (presumably), normal coffee cups, small and large plates, knives, forks, spoons - not fancy ones but doable - there is a silver/metallic tea set, four packets of decaffeinated instant coffee as well as some packets of tea (we got refills every weekday when the room service arrived to freshen up the beds and the room), cups (tall and normal sized), wine glasses - the list goes on, they have everything you need to cook up some dinner given that you buy the ingredients yourself.
Left of the entrance door we had our bathroom, which was made of stone like the floor. The bathroom featured a large dual sink, a standard/large bathtub/shower. It also had some shower gel and shampoo, but I preferred bringing mine from home, as I like what I'm used to, but each to their own. There was a hair dryer attached to the wall, but as mentioned before, I prefer bringing my own devices. There was a toilet, which was a bit far down (probably to accommodate children), as well as a bidet - if you even use those.
The service was excellent - not anything major as for their English, but they made themselves understood and understand you. They serve food - prepaid included breakfast at 8-10am, and a costly dinner. I chose not to utilize their dinner service, as I'd rather go to a restaurant and eat there, or make food in the room by buying ingredients from the local stores (Spar, there is a supermarket in the hotel but I assume that it is very costly, I prefer to walk to C.C. El Tablero and shop at Hiperdino, or Spar, both of which are well within walking distance.
TLDR; I loved everything, only thing I could complain about is one minor thing - the free WiFi offered could be a little faster (but this is a geographic problem, as last time I checked no-one provides fibre here) and it could have a little more homogeneous coverage across the hotel (and in the elevator). But I'd definitely chose this hotel over any other hotel if I were to travel here again, as it falls within my price range and is very centralized. There is a lot more that I could mention but it exceeds my patience to write everything that they offer - bus, pool, architecture, history, shows, jacuzzi, biomass, abiotic...
Read moreIt is a very dated 3 star hotel, in serious need of renovation. We checked in at around 12 o'clock, and we were told to wait until we get called because the apartment wasn't ready yet. So we've decided to go out for a coffee and shopping, but at 2 o'clock (check in time) we've decided to go back and arrived at the hotel around 2.30 where 2 male receptionists told us that the apartment still wasn't ready. Bearing in mind that I have 2 children( 7 month old who sleeps 3-4 times a day and hates sleeping in the stroller and a very active, hungry 4 year old) this was very bad news. We were told that it was going to take another hour or so. So we stayed on the sofas in the lobby and we're told that they could look after our luggage if we wanted to leave. Once again, two children, 100 bags, we really did not want to go anywhere. Yet all the other guests that arrived at the reception received their key cards, and nobody else was waiting. This shows very bad time management and complete disregard for the guests' time. I do not expect special treatment just because I have children, but I think it's easy to understand how difficult it is with planning when you have 2 kids and you expect something to be ready on time. After more than an hour of waiting, 20 snacks later, 1 terrible short nap in the stroller later, the receptionist waved to us that the apartment was ready just before 4 pm. I approached the man with a smile and playfully asked how he can make it up to me, to which he responded with a smirk ' I don't have to do anything for you' I literally had to pick up my jaw off the floor and if I didn't have my children with me I would just leave the hotel and never come back. I quickly responded 'I will remember that' and walked off. That man, working in hospitality, in customer service could not make the worse first impression, and it was a lasting one, I can assure anyone of that. I usually don't waste my precious energy on things like that, but that was just unbelievable behaviour and working in customer service myself, an absolutely unacceptable one. So I asked for his name and spoke to the manager, who was kind and promised to talk to Juan ( the reception MANAGER!) and then talk to me. Apparently, when the rooms are not ready on time, at least the guests are invited to the pool bar for a coffee or a drink, that bare minimum was not even mentioned! But the many times we saw each other after that during our week stay, the manager hasn't approached me once. No apology, no nothing. Its not about the 2 hours waiting time, I couldn't care less. But that behaviour was just impolite and certainly should not be coming from the reception manager, who should be a role model for his colleagues. This goes to show how the hotel staff, INCLUDING the manager treates their guests, who should, in fact, feel like in their second home. And neither I, nor any of my family members felt like that. When we arrived at the apartment, the baby cot wasn't there and the jacuzzi (see pic below) had still dirty hair at the bottom of it, so one can just wonder what else wasnt cleaned in a rush like that.... I certainly won't be recommending that hotel to...
Read moreWe visited in April 2023. Comfortable well equipped room. Sun terrace with clothes airer. Because we were on the top (third) floor we had a totally private rooftop terrance accessed via a spiral wrought iron staircase. Maid service every day except Sunday. Contrary to another review, we didn't have a problem with our shower, although I wouldn't say it was the most controllable in terms of temperature. Beautiful, well kept grounds, you can see why it's called 'Palm Oasis'. The two pools were lovely, very clean/clear and not too busy. At this point I'd like to mention how well behaved the children were. Fortunately no beer swilling badly behaved, foul mouthed Brits. There was a mixed of nationalities and everyone was very pleasant. Smoking is banned by the pool and the beaches we visited. In fact we didn't suffer from people smoking pretty much anywhere. A couple of things to note: Resort car parking 2€ a day Safe 1.80€ a day Personally I didn't mind the car parking charge but I thought the safe charge was unnecessary and gives a bad impression. Safety and security should be paramount and this fails on the latter point. BTW, if you have a question, just email the resort, this was responded to within minutes. The staff are very helpful. Car parking is underground and spaces are tight so don't go hiring a big car; the smaller the better. Having a car was useful and meant we could visit a variety of beaches. We did this late afternoon, setting off at around 4:00pm and generally speaking, we could then find parking not too far from the beach. Parking, near beaches, is chaotic and can be hard to find. We did visit Agaete and the salt water pools, which were closed. In the same trip to the North of the Island we attempted to visit visit Playa de las Canteras. Google maps took us to a horrible, filthy, grimey town where traffic was bad and parking impossible to find so we left without stopping. Overall, my preference was visiting places to the South. To conclude, we found the resort a very pleasant, relaxing place to stay which went up in my...
