We would like to thank Sr. Pepe, the management and staff of Hotel Grand Sol in Saint Antoni, Ibiza for a wonderful, relaxing and perfect vacation. There is not a single thing we would change or criticize. We are based in the United States but are British and travel through Europe for a month every summer, as well as taking regular trips to other parts of the world. This hotel is owned by a family that is committed to making their guests stay unforgettable. The reception staff is very friendly and efficient, the dinning room staff is helpful and attentive and the housekeeping staff is very well organized. Our room was cleaned by 11 am every day and it was spotless. The room, booked through British Airways Holidays, was comfortable and well appointed. The bathroom had everything you could possibly want in it, hairdryer, bidet, bath, shower, toiletries and felt almost new in terms of the granite counter, sink and tile floor. The room which was a standard twin, was a good size with nice hard beds, efficient AC, a ceiling fan, a smaller mirror and a full length one as well, which is so thoughtful and appreciated. The fridge, kettle and safe were all very useful and the balcony with a small table and two chairs was an additional place we could relax, sit and people watch! The free WiFi was extremely efficient and worked reliably. We enjoyed the enormous breakfast buffet every day which was included in the package, after which we walked 5 km around town! The standard of the food at breakfast was good, with the standouts being the Pain au Chocolate and pastries filled with custard, well as the coffee with hot milk which was delicious. My son enjoyed the wide selection of cold meats and deep fried potatoes, as well as the pancakes with caramel sauce, one of five different sauces available! Note that this description hardly touches on the huge choices of foods, including more than 10 types of cheese and at least that many types of breads, cakes and jams. There also was a full hot breakfast, cereals, yogurts and fruits as well. There is a very well appointed pool, deck and garden with comfortable sun loungers and plenty of umbrellas. Even when the hotel is full there is ample space for everyone. We appreciated the television including BBC and ITV programming as we were following both The World Cup and Wimbledon, Go Rafa!!! We booked this vacation as part of recovery from ill health, so it was very important to us that the environment be quiet and to be able to sleep. The hotel is the quietest we have ever stayed in and we slept very well. We would like to recognize Raquel, Mariano and 4th floor housekeeping staff for their service excellence. As a final comment, when we checked the status of our return flight, we found to our horror that a miscalculation had been made and although the package had stated four nights in the hotel, we had been booked to fly shortly after midnight, 40 minutes in to our 4th day! Consequently we missed our flight. Sr. Pepe and the reception staff were most helpful and accommodating in reaching British Airways Holidays and arranging us to be rebooked on a later flight. Sr. Pepe also most kindly extended our checkout until we needed to leave for the airport. Like many other guests, we will not hesitate to return and hopefully very...
Read moresahile yakın denmiş ama sahil zaten 50 metrelik minicik bir yer çok kalabalık. hizmete düşük vermemin nedeni havuzun ve snack barın orda çalışan terbiyesiz yaşlı adam. eşimi ayağın ıslak giremezsin diye çocuk gibi azarlayıp içeri almadı. öyle ıslak filan değildi. kumları yıkadıkdan sonra kapıya yürüyene kadar ıslaklık filan kalmıyor. ayrıca iki sn önce ben ve başkaları geçtik zaten aynı yerden. havuz çıkışı zaten ıslak olabilir biraz arada bir silersin. dışarı çık ordan dolaş demek ne demek. tek kelime ingilizce de konuşmuyor hay huy ediyor. hala dişlerimi sıkıyorum keşke dönüp kavga etseydim.
EDİT: Your response reveals who empowered the staff to be disrespectful. It wasn't wet or anything. It was simply a matter of the staff finishing up cleaning and picking off the last customers of the evening. After that, we went to the front desk and asked if it was forbidden to pass through. We always passed through this door during our stay. You're clearly a liar. All customers walk through this door after using the pool and get snacks and drinks all day long. We didn't see anyone walking around the building.
We came from the beach that day and didn't want to enter through the reception with our sandy feet. What a fool we were. and we went in from the pool side. My spouse's feet can't be wetter than mine, right? she just past before me. And there's not even a rule at the door to support this lie. If there were, people wouldn't be able to come in and buy things from the bar while they're enjoying the pool. You can't scold people like children and send them away just because they look polite.
also are you kidding me? Doesn't the supposed wetness when you enter from reception pose a security problem then? It's the same floor? What do you mean by not entering the hotel? It's not like we're getting water spilled on us or anything. If safety is important, you could at least put a doormat at the door. There's a pool at the hotel. Next to hotel there is the beach. Are you saying we were the first guests to enter wearing slightly wet slippers? After coming from the beach and washing our feet, there was no wetness left after a few steps. Do you also check everyone who enters the hotel after leaving the pool? Besides, you're the hotel manager, and don't you have any idea what respectful language is? I'm talking about a man who gets angry by waving his...
Read moreI found this hotel on Booking.com and was pleasantly surprised at the location, facilities and price, but I was a little worried there might be a catch. Fortunately I could not find one. The hotel is easy to find (especially if you arrive at night, with a giant illuminated sign on the roof!). Close to all the facilities of San Antonio as well as only a couple of minute walk to the coast and places like the Cafe del Mar.||The room was a good size and clean. The staff were friendly. The facilities too were good and as described, there was tea and coffee in the room.||The room rate I booked included breakfast but not an evening meal. However due to the weather (heavy rain and thunderstorms) I opted to also have dinner at the hotel. Again this is a very reasonable €18 extra. There was an excellent choice of food to choose from (buffet) for starter, main course and desert and staff were quick to come round and ask if you wanted drinks too. Food was good and topped up regularly. Similarly the breakfast choice was also plentiful and excellent (even two types of bacon), nothing I could fault.||I was a bit worried it might be noisy at night but this wasn't the case, it seemed to be in a peaceful location despite the fairly central location in San Antonio.||I believe there is also free parking though I didn't use it. I came on the bus and it is about 10 minutes walk from the bus station so not far (although I found the buses very unreliable, the service got completely suspended for a time when I was trying to get to the hotel so I would not recommend using the buses).||Overall I can't really think of anything to fault, it was good and I...
