Our first time to Ibiza, but Portinatx proved to be a pure delight. A quieter coastal resort, with no hectic nightlife, it had the most amazing turquoise bays with clear water, wonderful views. This small north Ibiza town had plenty of nice-looking restaurants and bars, plus three supermarkets. The local Spanish visitors and residents, European tourists and kids provided an enjoyable vibe and added to the laidback atmosphere.||The Grupotel Portinatx is ADULTS only resort. We had booked a garden view double, as there was no sea view rooms available. However, we were delighted to be given a junior suite for our 10 nights stay. [If you don’t ask- you don’t get!] It was a much better room than we expected. Light and airy, the spacious suite came with kitchen facilities. The reception staff welcome was both warm and friendly, something that all the staff maintained throughout our stay. The whole team, from the room-maids to the bar and restaurant staff went out of their way to make your stay memorable. They succeeded. ||The garden area with its pool, bar was a restful area with comfortable loungers. The pool had a lifeguard (who also exchanged guests beach towels) A good location for a quieter day. The second infinity pool was on the upper deck, overlooking the town and beach. You had a private guest only access to the sandy beach which fronts the hotel complex. At 24 euros per day the beach loungers and umbrellas were a tad pricey-but this had nothing to do with the hotel!||The breakfast and dinner buffet selection was excellent. At breakfast you could choose the pool deck or the dining room. Service was first class and the range of choices commendable, as was the cooking. There was no lunchtime meal but with the wide selection of fruits, cereals cold meats and cheeses plus freshly cooked breakfast dishes. You were not left hungry. We loved the variety and choice plus the evening dining area provided a lovely view of the beach.||The hotel, which is built on different levels, gives access to the beach via steps. However, the hotel does cater very well for those with mobility issues and ramps are provided giving alternative access to all its main areas. ||It was a surprise to read of some negative Tripadvisor reviews as our experience was only positive. One comment centred on room safe and hotel pool/beach towel charges! There were no actual charges for these just a refundable deposit (providing you didn’t lose your towels!). Of note were the hard-working room maids. Ours happened to be Olga, whose work ethic was amazing. Our room was cleaned every day to the highest standard and her colleagues always had a polite word to say. One constructive comment would be the morning tea/coffee/milk machine. There were incredibly slow and only one was located in the pool side breakfast area. You could wait a while to get your morning brew! But on the other hand, the hotel provided coffee and pastries at 7 am for the early morning departers before normal breakfast was served at 8 am.||We would definitely recommend the Grupotel Beach Hotel. Located in the Portinatx, this small resort stretches along the coast and is blessed with no fewer than three lovely beaches. The hotel has all the facilities for those who don't wish to venture further. But the gorgeous surroundings are well...
Read moreHello, We were in Portinatx from May 30th, 2024 to June 8th, 2024 at the Grupotel Ibiza Beach Resort (half board).
Arrival from the airport with own rental car. There are enough parking spaces on the street where the hotel is located. There is also a large, free parking lot within walking distance. There is a separate parking lot in front of the hotel to unload your suitcases for check-in. If the walk from the parking lot/rental car to the hotel of perhaps 200 m is too far for you, you should consider whether you are even capable of going on a vacation. We arrived at 12 noon, handover of the room from 2 p.m. (as stated in the booking conformation). We therefore enjoyed the free time on the beach and in the Rebrot bar.
Check-in with everything that goes with it (safe, tourist tax, safe, towels, etc.) without any problems in 10 minutes. The hotel complex consists of three buildings. Two on the left side of the street (building with reception, rooms and fitness room, and one building with rooms), one on the right side of the street (main building with restaurant, bar, spa, etc.). The street between the buildings has very little traffic, no disturbance. In the complex on the left there is a pool and a bar, changing rooms, toilets and showers are also available by the pool. There are enough loungers and parasols by the pool and on the well-kept lawn. Drinks and snacks in the bar are inexpensive and of good quality.
There is also a pool in the main building (parasols and loungers, shower too). There is another separate lounge area with loungers and umbrellas. The pool area leads into the bar. Live music in the evenings (9 p.m. to 10.30 p.m., five days a week, in the bar in cold weather). Dancing is also done here.
Showers, changing rooms and toilets in the pool areas are clean and are regularly checked and cleaned. Pool is cleaned regularly and water quality is checked several times a day.
There are two public entrances to the beach to the left and right of the main building. This can also be reached via a direct entrance from the main building.
Now the assessment in detail.
Staff: friendly, polite, helpful, very committed
Rooms: clean and well-kept. Daily cleaning (change of towels and bed linen according to personal preference). Corridors in the buildings are also clean and well-kept, there are enough trash cans available
Pools: clean and well-kept, some loungers should be replaced. Lifeguards at every pool, where the bath towels can also be changed
Breakfast: sufficient, alternating hot dishes. The chef at the plancha is a wizard! We have never seen anyone who makes such good omelettes
Dinner: sufficient, varied. The quality of the steaks prepared on the plancha leaves a lot to be desired. The fresh fish makes up for it
Overall food quality: standard, no outliers above or below. You can definitely find hotels with better quality
Bar: both clean and well-kept. The price/performance ratio for the drinks is right. Price for a cocktail approx. EUR 10.00. Well prepared in terms of appearance and taste.
To put it briefly: we had nothing to criticize, we overlook minor defects. Nothing and nowhere is perfect.
The hotel is definitely recommended. We will be back in May 2025.
Sunny greetings...
Read moreWe visited in October 2014 for a week and we were really pleased with this little gem of a hotel. We got a last minute all inclusive deal and were a little bit wary when reading other reviews. I would say go with an open mind. It's a lovely, quiet little resort and if you're looking for a chill out holiday then this is the place!||||Portinatx is a beautliful place with the most stunning beaches. The water is crystal clear and remains shallow a good distance out. It was quiet when we were there but the weather was lovely and it was a real treat to have the beach pretty much to ourselves. It is a quiet resort so bear that in mind. Not the place to go if you're looking for a party holiday. That said, there are a couple of really nice bars on the walkway around the beach coves. The Voodoo Lounge is a really nice place to sit overlooking the bay with a cold beer or a cocktail.||||We took an visit to San Antonio and took a boat ride out to watch the sunset which was lovely. It was good to see other parts of the island though the hustle and bustle of San Antonio made me really happy to get back to the peace of Portinatx.||||The hotel itself surpassed our expectations. The variety of drinks available through the all inclusive was great. For a three star resort the food was fantastic. You could have freshly cooked omelettes and eggs at breakfast and at lunch and dinner the chefs would cook fresh meat/fish.||||Our room was relatively basic but it was clean and had everything we needed as we were only using it as a base for sleeping in. The bathrooms were lovely and looked recently refurbished. The hotel grounds are compact but well kept and the pool area was great for lounging by with a book and a drink. The bar area was very inviting with a lovely terrace.||||There was entertainment provided twice during our week long stay but we didn't watch so I can't comment on it. The people working in the hotel were very efficient if not overly friendly. The girls working in the dining room ensure the place was kept running smoothly. We never had to wait for any meal service but that may be partly due to when we stayed (first week in Oct).||||Overall, we were more than happy with our stay and would gladly visit Portinatx again in the future as it remains one of the most beautiful places...
