We stayed here last Summer and it was our first stay at Es Puet but we are regulars in Portinatx. We had booked 2 apartments for my husband and I, our 2 boys and my parents.||So why only 1?||The apartment was tired. The shower curtain was ripped and frayed, the mechanised shutter didn't work properly, the air conditioning was temperamental and the lamp shade had rotted and just fell down exposing the bulb. That said it was clean and spacious enough for 3 so we were willing to overlook all this. ||What we weren't prepared to overlook was being blamed for all of the above. It was plain to anyone that the issues were simply wear and tear. Neither were we prepared to overlook the rudeness of the owner Maria. My husband was blamed for the shutter breaking. He did nothing other than try to open it. Maria refused to get an engineer out to repair it so our practically minded 18 year old took it apart and fixed it and it worked perfectly for the remainder of our stay. I was blamed for the lamp shade. It was literally made of paper and time had got the better of it, that's it. Various other fingers were pointed but I'm sure you get the idea. Another guest told us that they had been there the previous year and the kettle in their apartment didn't work properly, it wouldn't switch off when boiled and as they had young children it was a worry. They too were accused of breaking the kettle! But more interestingly, they returned the following year to the same apartment...and the same broken kettle!||Swimming pool...beds broken, only 2 cushions per apartment given, even though they are for 4 people making the beds incredibly uncomfortable. I took a white plastic chair from our balcony to the pool so I could sit without skin being nipped by broken plastic and was rudely accosted by staff and then Maria. I was told they didn't want chairs around the pool in case things got silly and they ended up being thrown in. I'm a mid forties mum, there with husband and one child and in the next apartment were my 65+ parents and other child (when I say children...18 and 15!). On what planet were we going to be throwing chairs! I wanted to read my book without my back aching! I wouldn't mind so much if we were complete strangers but in our many visits over the last 15 years we had got to know Toni, Maria's brother and restaurant manager, very well. Realistically they knew we were no trouble. There was also a day when we went to the pool early morning and there were clumps of hair floating in it along with chunks of bread. We politely asked if it could be cleaned and she accused us of throwing the stuff in the pool! Ridiculous! It had been a very windy night, fairly obvious to me how it got there!||We usually stay next door to Es Puet but as we'd always liked the bar/restaurant and due to medical reasons preferred self catering we booked here. ||Guess where we're staying...

Read moreWe have stayed here 4 times now and yet again we had a great time. Maria and her family are wonderful hosts. Our room was ready when we arrived and we were shown around by Maria who we chatted with. She gave us a bottle of water for our room too which was most welcome after our flight. ||The apartments are large with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The bathrooms have been refurbished since our last stay too, I love the shower! Plus the most beautiful sea view and large balcony which is a winner in my book. ||||The pool and terrace were empty during our stay so we got it all to ourselves which was fab. The lounger cushions provided in the room make it just that extra bit comfortable. Great for a nap!||||The apartments are spotless and everything is always great, the communication before our stay is always perfect too. Wonderful, family run place that we would pick now wherever possible for our visits to Portinatx. ||||We ate in the restaurant too - definitely give it a try. Lovely for cocktails in the afternoon before going back to get changed for dinner and the fish looked out of this world (even though I don't eat fish often) We got beef tenderloin each and nachos with chilli to start. It was delicious, cooked to perfection just how we both requested and in our opinion, really good value too. The service from the young female server was brilliant too, she made sure we were re-seated and that the door was closed as I was cold after the rain that day! The restaurant also has the cleanest toilets I have seen!||||We hope to see you again very soon, we try to come back at least once a year so will do our best to book with Es Puet Blanc as soon as possible. Thanks for a...
