Where do I start? My son and 20 other students went on a disgusting school trip. My 11 year old son came back traumatised after staying here. Firstly, the food was disgusting, they shouldn't even been allowed to give people that food. For breakfast, the only thing they were given was bread. But not ordinary bread, there was a croissant stuffed inside that I presume some poor child had to eat. My son walked into the room for the time and felt physically sick. The floors were soaked in cleaning chemicals and he slipped over and banged his head, this left him in a lot of pain. The rooms were absolutely atrocious and the staff were rude. But they weren't just rude, on the 3rd night my sons friend heard a knock on the door and it was a man who worked at the hotel. He then forced entry into the room and started stroking a boys leg. This behaviour is not in no way acceptable. They should really think about the type of people they employ here. Furthermore, this is a terrible place to go and the town is very bad with not much at all. So please no one go there for...
Read moreIt may only be a two star hotel but the staff were fantastic- couldn’t do enough for us. ||Food was mostly Spanish but they provided an alternative if kids or staff didn’t like it. And there was plenty. Staff even had wine provided on the table!! The manager even brought us a glass of champagne on the last night. ||We had the second floor to ourselves and there was a lovely park opposite which the kids enjoyed. Only downside was we’d had quite a lot rain and the park was very muddy but that’s life!||Rooms were clean and reasonably spacious and serviced every day. ||It’s not the most luxurious hotel in the world and they don’t try to be. It’s a comfortable hotel ideally suited to travellers with groups of young people which is, I guess, how they make their money. ||While we were there a couple came in to say that they had booked a local hotel but they couldn’t find anyone in it - the manager of Los Hidalgos offered them free accommodation?||All in all I’d recommend this hotel for a trip with...
Read moreThis is a small hotel with a big heart and is popular with groups. My room was a bit tatty but comfortable and clean and I was lucky to also have a small terrace. Sheets are old and bedroom doors have no soundproofing so you can hear everything outside it but the walls and ceiling are quiet. With a bit of TLC in the bedrooms this hotel would be perfect. Staff can't do enough for you and the food in the restaurant was excellent. My set menu had cream of courgette soup, followed by fried Tilapia fish & home made chips with garlic mayonnaise. Pudding was home made flan. A simple but delicious meal. |The location is perfect as you are five minutes from the beautiful medieval town of Santillana Del Mar, with quaint streets, beautiful Art Museum and Church also lovely shops and restaurants, yet the hotel overlooks a park and is quiet at night. |If you want value for money this is the...
