This hotel, which is rated five stars, and while the property has undeniable appeal—spacious rooms, elegant decor, and a good location—it consistently fell short of the service and attention to detail that define true five-star hospitality.||The staff were generally courteous, but not proactive. Small but telling oversights—such as the open WiFi did not work and upon inquiry, you were given the name and password to another network, no turndown service, and lack of follow-through on basic requests such as a bucket of ice or a corkscrew to open the corked wine bottles in the room. These may seem minor, but at this level, the constellation of details matter.||Public areas were elegant, and amenities like the pool and spa were well appointed, yet there was a sense that the experience was curated for appearance rather than substance. For example, the gymnasium did not have any water bottles or towels not even paper towels to wipe down one sweat from the machines. ||I sat in an elegant common area to get a cup of coffee while I read the news and after 40 minutes, had to go look for hotel staff to order coffee from. When I was finished with my coffee again, I had to go look for somebody in order to pay for the coffee.||Overall, the hotel delivers a solid four-star experience with five-star pricing. It’s a pleasant stay, but for those expecting the refinement and superior service of a true luxury property you will likely come away...
Read moreI'm giving 5 stars for the service and location of this hotel due to the fact we had a rental car and the parking was easy and free. The hotel has some beautiful qualities, a spa and a small art gallery. Leonela was an amazing front desk agent and I really appreciated how much she helped us with any questions. Her English was great. She even made a dinner reservation for us in another city the day we checked out. The buffet breakfast is really nice and had many choices. Carmela was super sweet and we appreciated her attentiveness during our breakfast. We came at a transitional time of seasons, with the set point for the A/C being a little too warm for us. We would have preferred it a tad cooler. Also, be sure to ask front desk to turn off the heated mirror in the bathroom, as it can roast you if you don't know to call to have them adjust. The room was large and beds were comfortable. The robe sizes only fit a small person, so my husband couldn't use one. Nice mini bar. The bathroom had an unusual configuration, but worked. My only real complaint is the hallway rugs were not vacuumed properly each day. All in all, I have no regrets in staying here because it met our needs, we were comfortable and the staff is...
Read moreWe booked a room with a view but when we arrived the view was just of the hotel courtyard. We requested another room but the only one available was not as advertised so declined to swap. The room was VERY large but most of the space was pointless and was furnished with furniture that didnt seem to have any theme to it as if they had just put any old furniture in it. The windows/french doors opened but if you inadvertently pressed the lock button in, you had to ring reception to get them to come up and open them with a key. This I felt could be a problem if there was a fire.|There was a large selection for breakfast but most of it seemed as though it had been there for the whole week. The hot food wasnt hot. I feel a 5 star hotel should have proper napkins not paper serviettes like at burger king. There was an obsession with mugs like a transport cafe and the coffee machine took ages to make a drink and kept flashing a whole host of error codes. I doubt it had ever been cleaned. This is predominately a corporate hotel so expect large groups of people attending conferences and striding about at breakfast as though they own the place.|I wouldnt stop here...
