Galle My Bungalow — Hotel in Galle

We booked this 3 bed room bungalow for a family vacation. We were very specific about the fact that we were booking the whole bungalow to ensure privacy since we have little kids and were concerned and safety was important. |The rooms were decent enough. The house is a beautiful colonial style home. |What the pictures won't show you is that the bungalow is on some form of rented car park and is surounded by another "hotel" . |Which means a lot of strange people walking around at any give time. Mostly drivers etc. |We were booked in for 2 nights . And suddenly on the 1st night a group of strange men were on the premises using the pool. So like I said privacy isn't to be expected.|Then the laundry room for the whole "resort" is inside the bungalow.|Except strange people walking in and out of the house with bags of laundry. |It's highly unprofessional and strange. |With the owner giving us all forms of silly excuses . His son and his friends want to use the pool was one such excuses . I think they fail to understand the we rented the whole property for a reason and having strange men using the property isn't acceptable.|Since we objected the quality of services was terrible . The pool was unclean and murky. Kitchen not cleaned . .|We definitely won't recommend the place and will never be...

Positive: We stayed for one night at this property. Clean bathroom and rooms. The helper was so nice and accommodating. He was always around and helpful.

Negative:unfortunately, we didn't meet the owner but there was a lady who claimed to be his Sister. She demanded the full payment as soon as we got there ( we didn't even get the room key) We made an advance payment but she wasn't happy . She did not even bother to answer the phone when we tried to reach out to her for something. She kept knocking the door, asking for the payment. We were really annoyed. At the check out we were trying to clarify a small thingy about the full payment she got agitated. She started blaming saying that she handles foreigners and Sri Lankans can't be trusted (this was so upsetting) I work for a hotel chain, we should never ever think that a particular race is superior to another. Me and my friend felt so uncomfortable. Fun fact, she mentioned that she went to Dubai and made the full payment at the check in 😂 we just laughed at it. Overall the property was...

Nice old colonial home with 3 guest rooms with modern en suites. Very, very strong camphor ( moth balls ) smell, over powering. We booked for 2 nights staying 11 February. Room was clean except a lot of black hair on the shower floor drain. We checked in and went out for the day. We returned after dinner to be met by the owners relatives, they told us we would have to leave in the morning as they were having a family function and needed our room for family guests. We explained that our booking was confirmed back in December and after the 9 February even we could not cancel. They still said we had to leave!! We asked the owner to find us some similar accommodations, he tried a bit, but at short notice there was nothing acceptable. we ended up leaving and paying much more for less standard.
