Luvi’s Villa — Hotel in Galle

I really don’t recommend this villa, even though it has huge potential. This is the third time they’ve changed or cancelled my booking.

First time: After confirming, they told me the previous guest didn’t leave.

Second time: Before I could pay, they said someone else already paid and took the booking.

Third time (the last one): I booked more than a month in advance and even paid the advance because this villa is always hard to book.

I actually had time to travel from the 22nd, but this villa was only available on 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th, so I waited specially for those dates. After waiting all that time, they told me just one day before my stay that the villa is under construction.

It completely ruined my plans and caused a lot of frustration. The place itself might be beautiful and has great potential, but the management is not professional at all.

Excellent Accommodation Where You Can Feel at Home

This is my fifth time in Sri Lanka—two times for vacation and three times for longer stays. Based on my experience, finding the right place from Hungary just by looking at pictures is almost impossible.

When we were already here in 2024, I had the chance to visit this accommodation in person, and it truly looks just like in the photos—clean, modern, and in a great location. On top of that, the owner is incredibly friendly and helpful.

By 2025, there was no question that we wanted to stay here again for five months. The property has two completely separate apartments, ensuring privacy and tranquility. The internet is reliable and perfect for remote work, and the well-maintained garden adds to the pleasant atmosphere.

We stayed at Luvi’s Villa for three nights. It is a very modern and beautiful looking villa. Very close to shops both local ones and a larger supermarket. The family that own it were really friendly and helpful. Chathuranga was great at communicating and gave us some help when planning to go and watch the cricket. The centre of Galle and the fort is just a quick tuk tuk ride away! Or they have scooters that can be hired for a reasonable price. It does get very hot in the kitchen/lounge area as there is just a fan, but we were told about that when we arrived, you can open the doors to the private garden area and that helps cool it down.
