Happy Haven Surf House — Hotel in Weligama

I lived for 2 weeks at Leanne and Lahirus place. They both are great hosts and I can recommend everyone to spend their time at this place.

I spent my time in the new building which they opened a few weeks ago. The room was clean and beautiful designed. The mattress is so comfy. You gonna have a really peaceful night. The rooftop of the building is really nice to relax. Especially to the sunset the view is amazing.

All the people I've meet were nice and friendly. You always find connection to the others. Leanne and Lahiru also invite everyone to spent time together or for local events. We went on my first day to the doctors house and had a great time there.

Every morning they went out for surfing and you are always invited to join. In case you didn't surfed before talk to Lahiru. He's a great teacher and he will help you to learn. I didn't took lessons by myself since I knew what I want to train. Anyway Lahiru still likes to give you some tipps and help you to improve.

We are 5 days into our month long stay in Weligama, and I am delighted that we booked to stay at Happy Haven Surf House for the whole time and do not have to leave yet.

Lahiru, Kata and their team are all lovely.

The room is spacious with plenty of storage space and having the private bathroom with hot shower feels luxurious for SL.

The onsite cafe/coworking is really handy. The wifi has been stable and can easily handle a video call when I am in this area.

The wifi in our room in the 2nd floor is okay for social media or basic internet, it's a bit better out on the balcony...and there is a lovely breeze out there too!

We started our surf lessons today, and it was all stress free, from getting a board, getting in the water and catching a wave.

There is room on the roof top to do yoga! There are some desks and power outlets up there if you want to work (maybe offline work, so would be good if you're reading or writing a lot and do not want any...

I have just got home from 2 months in Sri Lanka and cannot thank Leanne and Lahiru enough for their hospitality, travel advice and help! I originally booked into Happy Haven for a few days whilst I was traveling around the South but ended up staying for 3 weeks. Leanne and Lahiru made me feel like it was a home from home. The rooms were immaculately clean, fantastic aircon, comfy beds with spring mattresses, I couldn't have asked for a better location and on top of that the hosts went above and beyond to get me the best deals on getting around. After my trip to kandy and Ella I ended up back at Happy Haven for a further 2 weeks. A real 5* experience. The 2 dogs Billy and Teddy are also great! If you're in the south, id definitely say to go to...
