We chose to stay here because of the good reviews and we were not disappointed. Booked our room via Agoda however via Agoda, one can't really specify which room you will get, so when we got to the hotel to check in, the front desk said we were initially allocated a basement room but they upgraded us to a bigger room on the ground floor. We were happy to hear of the upgrade and we rolled our bags to the room on the same level as the front desk however when we opened the door to the room, we realized it was a room on street level with huge windows (think shopfront windows) where people walking on the street could look in through. We rolled our bags back to the front desk and asked for another room because we felt if we had to stay in this room, we would have to have the curtains drawn the whole time, which totally defeats the purpose of having big windows in the room. Luckily for us, the front staff obliged and they gave us a room on the 2nd floor. The room we got was really nice, lovely decor and it was pretty big. We had a nice view out the window of the rooftops of the town and of the old red building across from the hotel. We were pleased. We stayed at this hotel for the next 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We will definitely stay here again the next time we are in Helsingborg. Breakfast spread was really good. We enjoyed the selection. The only bone I have to pick is, when we were driving to the hotel, we called the front desk to ask where we could possibly stop our car to unload and the staff said right in front. But the road in front of the maindoor was under construction I said, so if we were to stop there even just for a moment, we would block other cars from going down the road!!! I further asked what do other guests do? where do they stop to unload? To that, she said flippantly wherever, she had no idea. I thought this answer was not very appropriate as people from out of town coming in cars would appreciate some advice on where we could park to unload. Anyways, we found a street parking nearby (not by suggestion as the person on the phone just said do whatever), managed to pay for the spot via a parking app and rolled our bags in to check in. The front desk lady could have easily given that advice: park on the street, pay for parking by downloading an app and walk over... but she said 'do whatever.' Fortunately, that was the only incident that didn't put the hotel in a good light. The front desk is the first point of contact, even if it's just a call, so maybe they should work on that. Or maybe the lady was having a bad day, who knows. Our stay was enjoyable. And all the staff we encountered face to face were very nice and pleasant. We will choose to...
Read moreI work as a tour guide so I've seen my share of hotels, but this one really stands out. And it stands out for many things. The first one is attention to the detail. The whole interior has so many neat details, figurines that make you feel like you're at home but at the same time in some modern art museum. Rooms are also gorgeous and neatly designed. There are plenty of amenities available in the room, and I need to point out that it's the first hotel that uses a wide array of Rituals Cosmetics. It kind of explains why the whole hotel has this very nice and distinct smell. Breakfast is extraordinary, featuring a whole array of foods. Bread is fresh and tastes amazing, there is a great selection of cereals, a variety of cheese, salmon, fruits. The staff is helpful and efficient. The location is good, some 10min walk from central station/ferry, in a quiet street so that there are not many noises apart from a garbage truck in the morning. The only downside is a rather pool noise isolation, you can basically hear whispers from the corridor or the...
Read moreThe premium room was small but nicely furnished good quality bed which we had a good nights sleep in, the bathroom was nicely decorated witch included a twin bath but there was no toothbrushes or toothpaste and with a bath I was hoping that it was supplied with bubblebath which would added to the experience of a double bath. The continental breakfast was very good and included cave which was a nice surprise but we also booked a table in the restaurant for Al la carte . The starter was very good, when we asked for the wine we were told that they didn't have the key to the winecubbard.so we had a glass of house wine, OK. When the main course came we had no wine or cutlery , the meat was so chewy that we sent it back and when we orded another glass of the houses red wine it came direct from the fridge. Unacceptable 😠.so we left and went to eat somewhere else. Very disappointed as it was a birthday...
