Tertianum Residenza Hotel & Ristorante Al Parco — Hotel in Circolo di Locarno

This is a tricky review to write, because there is nothing really wrong with this place, it's just not 'quite' what I was expecting. ||||I was booked in here by a company that I sometimes fly for (I'm a corporate jet pilot), who found the room on some or other hotel booking site. What they didn't realise (and neither did I until I arrived) is that this is not really a 'hotel' - at least not in the conventional sense. This is a retirement home which advertises vacant rooms on a hotel booking site. Yes, really. It's a retirement home. I'm not even joking. ||||Despite not being so young as I once was, I was still at least thirty years younger than anyone else who was staying there and so I didn't really need the 'Nurse Call' button that was on the bedside table or the fold out seat in the shower. ||||There IS a swimming pool although when I went to check it out, it was full of elderly ladies wearing shower caps, taking what appeared to be some kind of 'aquatic yoga' class.||||The fact that this is not a normal hotel is not really clear from the booking website and I rather think that it probably should be. That having been said, my room was very large, very clean and as you might expect, was very, very quiet. My tiny single bed was actually very comfortable and I got a good night's sleep. ||||This 'hotel' (and I use that description advisedly) is in a very central location, opposite the railway station and just a few minutes walk (for me, although not I suspect for most of the other residents) from the lake.||||If you want a quiet night in a large, clean, inexpensive (at least by Locarano standards) room, in a central location, this may well be ideal for you. Would I stay there again? Hmmm...

We were a couple on a vacation to Europe when we stumbled across this town Lucarno. It was listed as a must visit, personally I was not a fan of this town. If you have limited time I would recommend Lugano over this town. Moving on to the hotel: ||This is a retirement home with few apartments for outsiders my bet is unused apartments are rented out to guests. It’s not a fully functional hotel. Rooms were old and furniture was old too though it was spacious. Two dining chairs were so old that one of them almost broke. ||All the above can be accepted but NOT THE BELOW. ||Checking in was such a hassle as we had arrived at around 8, no information or boards were there directing us. After half an hour of wandering we went to their restaurant and got the key. Not a happy experience at least a board at the entrance must have been provided. || Breakfast was very limited. ||My request at this time would be to stop outsiders from entering/ renting out rooms unless the virus situation gets better as they are mostly senior citizens staying. |||Cozy...

This Place is a retirement village, but they also have in Block A where the independent people live I think 20 Apartments for holidaymaker.||We stayed on the 8 th floor and it was amazing.||Huge bright room, kitchenette ( but no pots or frying pans )||Huge Balcony overlooking a nice area, lots of storage and comfortable beds.||The shower wasn't the best, it was designed for wheelchair people. It had a seat and was very small.||Everything was very clean and our breakfast was included.||We were sitting together in the same bright sunny breakfast room as the Elderly.||Staff was unbelievable friendly and helpful.||||We had a few problems finding Reception and also our Apartment.||It's a huge complex.||Unfortunately the Building where our room was didn't look very inviting in the hallway. It was more like a Hospital. Very basic and plain.||||Everything was very quiet. No screaming children or drunks.||The garden area is like a Park. Fountains, Benches, Ducks, lots of trees and flowers.||Walking distance to Train station 5 min.||To Town and Lake 10 min.||Supermarket 5 min.||Very centrally located.||The only issue we had there was no Internet in Block A. We always had to go into the garden.||It's a very secure property. !!!!||Nobody can get in...
