We found this gem of a restaurant as we travelled through northern Italy and southern Switzerland. This restaurant was particularly service-oriented, with impeccable food as well. The waitstaff (we had Melinda) were very friendly and could work in many different languages. The maitre d’ was charismatic and generous with his local knowledge. The food was quite fine, even by the standards of Europe. I had the ossobuco, which was great. It definitely had a “Swiss twist” to it, as one might expect if in the Italian-speaking cantons of Switzerland. My companion had the tartufo nero, which was literally prepared in front of us in a hollowed-out cheese wheel. That was a new one for me, and the taste was extraordinary. It should be noted that, at least at the time of this review, the restaurant must have a deal with the locale next door, Napulé, since we also split a neopolitan-style pizza as an appetizer - also quite good. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared and bursting with flavor. The service was also excellent. The staff was attentive and friendly, always ready to help and incredibly accommodating, especially when it came to gluten-free requests. It was clear they took dietary needs seriously, which made the experience even better for our group. There were a couple of very minor details that kept it from being a full five-star experience-nothing major, just small things that could be easily improved.
